Molten fire ring with Enamel 06 of ‘Play with fire’ ——— Building on risk taking and video game sensibility, the Molten Fire ring draws from the vibrant, exaggerated depictions of ‘bubbling lava terrain’ found in children’s animations and game shows like The Floor is Lava. These depictions present lava as a high-stakes obstacle - visually intense, dangerous, yet ultimately entertaining. Through this series, I aim to convey the danger and tactfulness involved in risk-taking, along with the excitement it generates. I was inspired by 3D optical illusions to create a body of liquid with geometric shapes simulating the texture of bubbling liquid in motion. The rings in this series resemble miniature landscapes, where a tiny, imagined figure might be taking cautious, strategic steps across treacherous terrain. Each form evokes the emotional choreography of nervousness and anticipation - the delicate tension of navigating risk, where every step is both playful and perilous. by @hoadan__

Matches set with Enamel & Ruby zoisite 02 of ‘Play with fire’ ——— Recreating memories and its spirit into precious permanent objects: Matches. As a child, I was fascinated by fire and frequently played with matches, intrigued by the delightful balance of curiosity, playfulness, and risk. This collection is a meditative journey, helping me reconnect with that childhood spirit in a far more complex adult world. By revisiting those memories, I experience again the pull of curiosity and how naturally I once embraced risk. The collection unfolds as a series of different structures, almost like a collection of toys; each tells a different aspect of adventure and fire. by @hoadan__

Caught On Fire Ring with Enamel & Sapphires 01 of ‘Play with fire’ ——— Through documenting and visually exploring fire to translate it into physical forms for the body, i try to capture an intangible element - the life, intensity, sharpness, and movements of fire. Inspired by 8-bit video games, I created a digital fire sculpture that feels both organic and intense of geometric form. The ‘Caught on Fire’ sculptures portrays the silliness in trying to play with fire: How easy it is to make a mistake, and your hand or body could be catching on fire at any moment, portraying a more light-hearted, effortless perspective of taking risks. Because in video games, being caught on fire would just be another dramatic but harmless occurrence. by @hoadan__
