Are you a fan of the SOUP, or DRY version? $8.90 Klang-style Bak Kut Teh in Chinatown?! And there’s NO GST or service charge A newly opened spot serving Klang-style Bak Kut Teh right in the CBD with sets starting from just $8.90. Each set comes with a trio side platter of salted vegetables, peanuts and youtiao plus scallion oil rice, which makes it good value for money considering the location Here’s what we tried: 🥘 Bak Kut Teh Set - The soup has a slightly herbal and mildly sweet flavour. Besides pork ribs, it also comes with pork belly. The ribs were tender and not tough 🥘 Dry Bak Kut Teh Set - This was more flavourful with its sweet and savoury sauce. I liked the addition of ladyfinger which soaks up the sauce 🍤 Prawn Roll - My favourites from the meal. You can get chunks of prawns while the chestnuts adds crunch 🍗 Chicken in Sesame Oil - The chicken was tender and didn’t have an overly strong smell. I wish they were a little more generous with the chicken 🌶️ Homemade Otah - Otah was moist and flavourful though I found it on the salty side. I would have loved to see more chunks of fish in it This is worth checking out if you’re looking for a reasonably priced meal in the CBD. At $8.90 onwards, you’re getting a full set with sides and rice and also Klang-style Bak Kut Teh isn’t as commonly found in Singapore, 📍Ho Kee #sgfood #sgfoodie #bkt #chinatown #singaporefood by @hokeebkt.sg

Looking for Klang-style Bak Kuh Te? 👀 Found one tucked at the heart of Singapore’s Chinatown. Whether you are a local or a tourist, pretty sure this is worth a try PLUS ALL side dishes at 50 Cents ONLY 🤤 It’s not your usual peppery style and the meat is so tender and the prices points of the sets doesn’t go beyond 10SGD so that’s pretty much a steal. Watch till the end for the locations. Would you try this out too? #LIFEStyleWithMariane #visitsingapore #bakkuhteh by @hokeebkt.sg
If you've only had peppery BKT, you're missing half the story because Klang-style Bak Kut Teh is a different beast entirely! ♨️ While the Singaporean BKT version is mostly clear and peppery (Teochew-style), the Klang version is the total opposite: it’s dark, rich and deeply herbal. Think of it more of a traditional Chinese herbal tonic that happens to be delicious, rather than a soup. It's believed to have started in Klang, Malaysia, where early Hokkien labourers would brew herbs to stay strong through long days of hard labour. And that's what makes it so good today. Built on 10+ herbs and spices that you can actually taste, enjoy a Ho Kee BKT served in a claypot, piping hot, where every sip is warm, aromatic and delicious. That's the experience we're bringing to Chinatown. Have you tried Klang-style BKT before? Tell us your first impression. Share this post with your foodie friends if they enjoy a nice hearty meal! ❤️ #hokeebktsg #klangbakkutteh #singaporeeats #chinatownsg #singaporefoodies by @hokeebkt.sg
