Three years ago, I bought this outfit and tried it on at home while my mom was visiting me.

The first thing my mom said was,

”¡Muchacha! Tú no eres una prostituta. Ponte esos shorts por debajo.” 😂😭

So I did (because who wants to get hit with a chancla? Not me 🙈).

Then life happened, and this outfit sat in my closet for three years without ever being worn.

Three years later, I finally had the perfect occasion to wear it.

My mom bought most of my wardrobe over the years, and because I don’t work in a glamorous environment, I have a lot of clothes I do not wear. Even now, there’s almost always something I’m wearing that she picked out for me.

Today it was this outfit… and the pulseras she gave me for my quinceañera are still on my wrist.

Maybe that’s why she never really feels far away.

Te extraño todos los días, Mami. 🤍

Heaven gained a handsome angel 😇 with the brightest smile💗 My Uncle Bernard was the best Godfather a girl could ask for. I spent just as much time with him as I did my parents. If it wasn’t for him, my sister and I would not exist since he introduced Mami to Papi on vacation in the Bahamas. When I ran track and cross country we would run around together and would teach me about managing my money. He introduced my sister and I to GoGo music and his love for Chuck Brown as a child✨ who knew I’d go to school in Chocolate City as an adult. Uncle Bernard was an amazing drummer, dancer, and percussionist who loved to have parties and bring people together. He moved me into my dorm every year with my parents and would let me drive his car unlike my Dad when I was learning how to drive 😭 Seeing Papi and Uncle Bernard’s friendship for over 45 years truly showed me how friendship is essential to the soul💜💛💗💚 (Tau Psi Spr. 80). Thank you for all the beautiful memories💗💗💗 -Love, Gisselle by @hola_gisselleg

What’s the point of making a good living if you never have enough time to actually live it? ✈️

The real luxury is having the freedom to go, rest, and enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard to build.

Anybody else planning their entire life around their PTO balance? 😩

Early morning crash out in the Marriott Lobby. This is my coping mechanism rather than crying. American Airlines, why???
