STANDING OVATIONS …

... for the concert by @beethovenorchesterbonn as part of @beethovenfest.bonn! Standing ovations for the continental European premiere of “emergency shelter intake form” by the wonderful @gabrielkahane – featuring the sharp and crystal-clear Chorus of Inconvenient Statistics (@lisel.jpeg, @holcombewaller and Gabriel Kahane), the sensational @aliciahallmoran, @philchor_bonn and, of course, our orchestra - with @dirkkaftan_conductor on the podium. And another standing ovation for a fantastic “From the New World” after the interval!

Thank you to everyone on and behind the stage – and, of course, to the best audience in the world!

Here is a little bit of my dastardly solo in @gabrielkahane ‘s “emergency shelter intake form,” here rehearsing with novus symphony at @trinitychurchnyc - If you’d like, tune in for the live streaming (second link in bio) Thursday October 24 at 4pm PST / 7pm East Coast. There are fifty spots left for free tix reservations (first bio link), although nyc folks please do feel free to just show up - people who reserve free tix show up half the time lol. There will be door admission for all those open spots. The acoustics and church are extremely beautiful. by @beethovenorchesterbonn

One of the best nights of 2025 (or maybe this decade!). My heart is bursting with pride and joy. @holcombewaller you absolutely killed it. From the rich gorgeousness of your voice to the incredible special guests to the costumes to the sheer glee of the audiences, what a very special night. You did right by George Michael in every way. I am beyond proud of you, so impressed, overflowing with joy and I just love you so much. You did it! Here’s to making this an annual event!!! taken in The Alberta Rose Theatre by @beethovenorchesterbonn

Constantino died in my arms yesterday. He was such a good boy, a most beautiful creature, who entered my life as the trusting companion of my boyfriend, William, my sweetheart. His boundless, puppy-like energy belied an advanced heart condition from which he miraculously never suffered a visible symptom.

Nonetheless, as he pranced around, excited to go out on a walk, he then paused, crouched low for a few seconds as life left him, then lay down on his side and looked at me as I knelt beside him to hold his head. His eyes moved away as he arched his back and neck like a kind of swan, and with his last breath, he made the saddest, most melodious, beautiful quiet howl - like a call to his ancestors, to William: Hear me, I am dying now.

I hope to die as elegantly as our beautiful regal boy, and I know I will think of my dear, sweet Constantino when I go, among my other heroes who have died with grace and dignity. He was six, and I will miss his velvety ears, his silky-soft tummy, and his penchant for bedtime snuggles.

❤️ This Saturday! ❤️ Come celebrate the season with a lush, soulful, and gloriously nostalgic holiday concert featuring the music of George Michael and Wham! I've got a banger band of Portland all-stars, under the banner The Careless Whispers (Bill Marsh, Kirk Kalbfleisch, Milo Fultz, Alex Milsted, Caleigh Crane), and my supreme special guest vocalists China Forbes, Gabriel Kahane, Arietta Ward, Milo Fultz and Hannah Dimo. It's an evening that sparkles with joy, heartbreak, and unapologetic glamour. Two sets weave together George Michael’s timeless hits, holiday classics, and deep cuts – expect big harmonies, shimmering arrangements, and a festive spirit that’s as stylish as it is heartfelt. A night for everyone who still believes in the healing power of the perfect pop song. 7pm sold out, 9:30pm available (9pm door) as of this post - ticket link in bio. @chinaforbes @gabrielkahane @mzetta99 @hannahdimo @wygonefly @wmarshmusic @kirk.kalbfleisch.drums @caileighcrane #GeorgeMichael #Wham #whamlastchristmas #georgemichaelforever #popmusıc #holidayconcert #tributeconcert #lastchristmas by @beethovenorchesterbonn
