Dear 2025 Cross Country Season,

If you know me, you know I’m a track girl through and through 💕 400s, 800s, 1600s — that’s me all day. So when I found out I had to do cross country this season to condition for track, I was like uhh who do I look like running 5k’s every weekend ?! 😭 I did not wanna do it to be completely honest. I was ready for this season to be over after the first day of practice.

But I had to follow God’s path because He had other plans for me 🙏🏾

Practice from 4-6, Monday - Friday made me feel like I didn’t have a life. 😭 Going straight from practice to my house to the football games 😂 It was stressful, but I still managed to have fun. I truly disliked those 3–4 mile repeats at Threshold😩 I was tired, but I persevered and kept showing up.

My coaches and teammates were so supportive they saw something in me that even I didn’t see in myself. My first meet, I was so nervous, but I ended up running a 25:46, which is fast for someone doing cross country for the first time! When I got moved up from JV to Varsity, I knew I had something in me.

I kept practicing, kept pushing through the tough days, and made the best memories with my cross country girls Malia, Jaden, Nola, and Lily 🫶🏽 Those practices, the laughs, the hard days I’ll never forget them. 💗

My favorite race this season was Wingfoot! Jaden pushed me to believe in myself while running with her. I’ll never forget that race because I dropped from a 25:46 to a 24:11, and by my last race, I gave it everything I had finishing with a 23:59. 🙌🏽 Which allowed me to get the 23 shirt!

This season means the world to me 🌎 It also taught me that sometimes the things we don’t wanna do are exactly the things that help us grow the most. 💕

If you ever feel like you can’t do something or just don’t want to just remember:

“Sometimes the things we least want to do are the very things that grow us the most.” — Unknown

And the best part? Still keeping my A’s and B’s while being a freshman on varsity🙌🏾

I wouldn’t change this season, this team, or these memories for the world 🏃🏽‍♀️💨

Martha’s Vineyard Leadership Camp with @bluedotinstitute was truly an experience I’ll never forget. 🌊💙

I had the best time exploring the island, building my leadership skills, and meeting so many amazing people from across the country. Being one of only 12 students in the country accepted in the program made this opportunity even more special, and I’m so grateful I got to learn from inspiring leaders while creating memories that will last forever.

A huge shoutout to my roomie @edenanilaa for making the week even more fun! 🫶🏽

Thank you, @bluedotinstitute, for investing in young leaders and giving us an opportunity to learn and grow I’m so thankful for this experience! 🤍
