TRICK OR TREAT 🎃 Fabio Frizzi’s haunting score for Paura Nella Città Dei Morti Viventi (City of the Living Dead) returns to vinyl in a newly restored edition, featuring brand-new artwork by the legendary Scarful. Available for pre-order right now exclusively at www.rrcmusic.com Written for Lucio Fulci’s 1980 cult classic, the soundtrack captures the dread and disorienting atmosphere at the heart of the director’s cinema. Hypnotic motifs, chilling melodies and moments of uneasy calm give the music a life beyond the screen, making it an essential part of the enduring connection between Frizzi’s sound and Fulci’s nightmarish imagery. From “Living Darkness” to “Mystery’s Apotheosis” and the shifting moods of “Toward Dawn,” this edition brings together themes and alternate versions that reveal different shades of the score’s unsettling world. Remastered specifically for vinyl by @busdeez this reissue is presented with newly commissioned artwork by Scarful, expanding on the original imagery to bring a new perspective to a landmark of Italian horror. ©℗ 1982 – Flipper Srl Edizioni Musicali. ROVI (PIERO UMILIANI) “DRAMMI E SPERANZE” is available now at @rrcmusic.co Originally released in 1976 on Piero Umiliani’s own Sound Work Shop imprint, Drammi e Speranze—issued under the pseudonym Rovi—stands as a refined example of his late-period library work. Performed by a compact string ensemble and subtly augmented by piano, Hammond organ, Eminent organ, and Rhodes, the album unfolds through a series of classically-informed compositions where melody takes center stage. Each piece is concise, evocative, and purpose-built—reflecting the functional yet highly expressive nature of Italian library music at its peak. Conceptually, the record is structured in two contrasting halves: the first side explores themes of optimism and resolution, while the second delves into darker, more introspective territories, mirroring the emotional duality suggested by its title (Tragedies and Hopes). Long overlooked outside specialist circles, Drammi e Speranze is here presented for the first time ever on vinyl reissue, newly remastered to highlight the depth and tonal richness of Umiliani’s arrangements. This release celebrates 100 years since the birth of Piero Umiliani, honoring the enduring legacy of a composer whose work continues to resonate across cinematic, library, and contemporary sample-driven music. CRAIG DOVE “CRAIG DOVE” limited edition vinyl reissue is now available to order at @rrcmusic.co A hidden gem of late-’70s soft rock and AOR sophistication, Craig Dove is a quietly radiant self-titled album that lives at the crossroads of singer-songwriter soul and West Coast studio craft. Originally released in scarce numbers, Dove’s lone full-length statement has become a sought-after cult favorite — a record defined by warm analog textures, mellow grooves, and a voice that carries both vulnerability and ease. With understated arrangements, melodic hooks, and the smooth polish of peak-era album-oriented rock, Craig Dove captures a moment when soft rock, blue-eyed soul, and jazz-tinged pop converged effortlessly. This newly restored edition brings the album back into circulation in faithful presentation, offering a rare chance to experience one of the era’s most overlooked treasures in full depth. For fans of private-press soul, AOR deep cuts, and timeless songwriter albums that reveal more with every listen, Craig Dove is a long-overdue return. ©℗ Licensed Courtesy of @thenumerogroup As usual mastered for vinyl by @busdeez and artwork restored by @mr_krum_graphic_design #craigdove #holybasilrecords #AOR #softrock #numerogroup by @holybasilrecords
COMPLESSO GISTERI “MOSTRA COLLETTIVA” limited edition reissue is now available for pre-order at @rrcmusic.co Mostra Collettiva by Complesso Gisteri—the elusive 1972 gem born from the inspired partnership of Alessandro Alessandroni and Oronzo De Filippi—returns to vinyl for the first time ever. Originally released in microscopic quantities and long considered a holy grail of Italian library music, the album has now been lovingly restored and reissued in its most faithful analog form. Under the alias Complesso Gisteri, Alessandroni and De Filippi explored a warm, pastoral palette that distills everything collectors cherish about early-’70s Italian soundtracks and library sessions. Alessandroni’s unmistakable guitar style—lyrical, shimmering, instantly evocative—sets the tone throughout, weaving effortlessly around De Filippi’s expressive keyboards, from rich piano passages to the crystalline touch of spinet and harpsichord, an emblematic signature of the era’s finest Italian productions. The duo enriches these intimate arrangements with flute flourishes and the ethereal vocal textures of Giulia De Mutiis, whose wordless melodies elevate several pieces into dreamy, almost cinematic vignettes. The compositions radiate joy and romanticism, painting images of pastoral calm, sun-dappled landscapes, and rustic Italian charm. A long-hidden treasure, rediscovered and made available to collectors and music lovers for the very first time. ©℗ Four Flies srl / Licensed to Holy Basil Records by Four Flies srl Mastered for vinyl by @busdeez at @scalabmilano Artwork restored by @mr_krum_graphic_design #oscarrocchiquintet #oscarrocchi #alchemyinjazz #minstrel #holybasilrecords #fourfliesrecords by @holybasilrecords
PIERO UMILIANI “IL PONTE DELL’ASIA” is available now at @rrcmusic.co A captivating deep cut from the golden age of Italian library music, Il Ponte Dell’Asia stands as one of Piero Umiliani’s most evocative and exotic soundscapes. Originally released in 1967 as a private pressing for Italian the TV documentary by Corrado Sofia, this elusive gem blends Far Eastern motifs with the elegance of mid-century European jazz and the textured experimentation that defines Umiliani’s best work. On Il Ponte Dell’Asia, Umiliani constructs a cinematic bridge between continents, layering modal melodies, sinuous flutes, shimmering vibraphones, and richly orchestrated strings over hypnotic rhythms and subtly psychedelic touches. The result is a masterful fusion of East-meets-West that channels both travelogue fantasy and avant-garde sophistication — a rare synthesis of traditional instrumentation and modernist sensibility. Exported from the original tapes, pressed on high-quality vinyl and with faithfully restored artwork, this reissue offers a long-overdue return to one of Umiliani’s most immersive sonic journeys, an essential for fans of Italian library music, film scores, and genre-defying jazz. Rediscover a lost jewel from the vault of one of Italy’s most visionary composers — where bamboo forests, smoky clubs, and dreamlike landscapes converge in sound. ©℗ 1967, Liuto Edizioni Musicali / Licensed to Holy Basil Records by Liuto Edizioni Musicali #pieroumiliani #ilpontedellasia #library #stageandscreen #score reissue vinyl holybasilrecorfs liutoedizionimusicali by @holybasilrecords
