One of the most asked questions in our home is about this floating shelf 🤎

So here’s the story…

This shelf started as a beautiful Spotted Gum slab we found on a friend’s farm. Nick and I brought it home, cut it in half, sanded it back, and finished it with a polish to bring out all of the natural grain and character.

To achieve the true floating look, we installed 4 heavy-duty steel rods directly into the wall studs and drilled the shelf onto the rods. This means there are no visible brackets, giving it that clean, seamless finish while still being incredibly strong and secure.

It’s one of our favourite DIY projects because it combines natural timber, practicality, and a custom look that feels completely unique to our home.

Save this post if you’ve been dreaming of adding a floating timber shelf to your space

The hardest part of pregnancy might just be the waiting… reminding myself that bubba will come when they’re ready, and not a moment before 🤍

I can’t wait to use the SnuzPod 5 from @snuzausnz which has been set up waiting for a while as well! 🤣
Our master bedroom isn’t overally big, so I needed something that was sleek, stylish, safe and fit next to the bed.
