Integrative Health Practitioner #ihp and Trauma Informed Coach. Teaching neurological lifestyle and nutrition changes for optimal long-term health

POSTS STORIES REELS

This is what I do now. I am also AMI Montessori trained along with a Regenerative Ag and Microbiome certification. I am currently finishing up a functional rehab mobility certification & functional lab certification.

When I teach I use all my backgrounds to work with my clients as they need. Each client receives a custom protocol plan and we change it as needed.

When I teach classes, workshops or group coaching I try to gauge what is needed from each group vs my agenda. So each class and group is unique. Yes it’s a lot of work but for now it gives me energy and I love it.

If you want to know more or interested in working with me. Send me a message.

Hello Hello!
It's been over a year since I did an introduction so to all those who have joined in the last 12 months- Welcome!

My name is Cham Edussuriya and I am a Food Educator in the simplest terms. I have worn many hats in my adult career from catering, restaurant work, Montessori teacher, Zoom teaching, homeschooling mom, Regen Agriculture student, to now Integrative Health Coach and Trauma Informed Movement Training- aka somatic healing.

I love food, working with people- especially the younger ones, and focusing on health. It took me out of the classroom as I was tired of the pressure from high expectation parents who wanted their 3 year olds coding and getting into Harvard when they lacked the ability to wipe their bottoms or feed themselves. Focusing on the fundamentals and seeing the benefits of movement, nature and food in all children, but more dramatically on children who were neurodivergent led me down a new path. I wanted to focus on movement, food and health. I also wanted to leave a place that was not good for my health. I stepped out and created my own business with food related summer and weekend camps. This evolved into health and now trauma informed movement- based on polyvagal theory and neuroscience.

I love learning about the brain, human connection, movement and food. I believe these are all essential to what makes us human and gives us a meaningful experience with those we surround ourselves with. I believe in building community and having food as the center of it. If we share a part of who we are from our heritage, we find ways to build a relationship with others.

I love to travel, hike, camp, eat, cook with others (and on occasion FOR), and learn about the history and diversity of food and culture. I love to learn the way food is woven through geography, and history. I strive to bring this into all the classes, courses and workshops I teach both young and wise. I also love to weave in gardening and botany to give perspective that we are interconnected with nature and a truly symbiotic relationship is vital for the survival of all species on this planet.

Hello. This is me. It’s been a while. This account does have a face. It’s brown. It’s over 40 and it’s the account of a mother with kids and a changing career. It’s the face of someone who is changing careers mid-life. The face of a health coach who is embracing curly hair, brown skin, eating with their hands, and cooking homemade food. This is the face of someone who is wanting alternative medicine that is actually founded in my ancestral roots. This face believes that in food lies medicine. In food we are a community. In food we can learn to heal our bodies and our planet.

This is the face of someone ready to share health goals, food, meal prep ideas all while keeping heritage on our plates.

I hope you join, like and follow along as I grow this account to serve my community- those of you who also want what I want.

Change takes time. Sometimes it requires a dramatic effort and sometimes it’s slow daily changes. Whatever you decide works for you is what works. But it takes discipline and work.

We’re making changes together. So let’s go. Let’s do this right. We’ve all been injured and in pain so let’s rehab this issue and build ourselves back up stronger than ever.

We’re here to support each other and know we’re not alone.

We’re so excited to share our program with all of you so you can see the heart and soul that goes into this program. Daria and Lucken are dedicated to these teens daily and I am so lucky to be a part of it one day of the week. We have been creating this part of the program over the last 2.5 years to now integrate the cooking and nutrition component as part of this 8 week course.

It is a joy to be with these teens and to see their hard work and dedication in showing up prepared and on time, to following directions and sharing their stories and knowledge with us all.

We also LOOOVE when graduates come back to visit!

I talk to many people who are hurting, suffering or are in general discomfort and pain. But only a few are willing to do the work to move past into the healing phase.

There is comfort in staying where you are but is it worth it? Can you make small changes? Are you willing to do one small thing? Are you worth it?

The answer is yes. Yes you can. Yes you’re worth it. And yes you can do hard things.

You just need to decide to make the change.

If you cannot do it alone. I’m here to support you.

I’m offering the friends and family discount now through the end of the year on the Foundation Program.

The teens pick their final meal and fettuccine alfredo with chicken is one many group pick. This time with a Cajun flair. Accompanying it was a rainbow salad with a Dijon vinaigrette and garlic bread.

I had seconds!

We’re so proud of these youth to stay through the 8 weeks developing job skills and readiness, understanding urban agriculture and the basics of nutrition and kitchen skills. All of these soft skills are to help them with their executive functions as they transition to young adults preparing to enter the work force.

Details about the program, what I offer in the nutrition education portion and basic recipes are found in the link 🔗 in bio.

Give them a 👍🏽🎉👏🫶 and let them know you see their efforts!
