⚠️TW: Country Music⚠️
With another Country Renaissance upon us, it can be extremely overwhelming with 70+ years of music to rediscover and Nashville constantly pumping out new artists by the week. It’s perfectly natural to enjoy one sub-genre, but make sure to keep your ear to the ground because you may just find your next favorite artist leading you to another arena of country. For too long Nashville has tried to make our favorite artist compete against their streaming machines. Join the rowdiest genre and continue being vocal about your independent artists. They deserve, you deserve it, we deserve it.

Country—before social media—represented regions, groups of people, clusters of culture. But now the fence hasn’t been well cared for and our trinity (Texas, Red Dirt, and Appalachian) has fought internally for too long and Alternative has ran the tables. Alternative is meant to be the safe gate for new listeners to enter, it’s meant to challenge our thinking, to experiment with other genres. When abstract is the foundation though, don’t expect strength or longevity. Your preferred subgenres matters, because you matter.

🚨Dancers, our job is to take the music and best express it for agrarian folks to appreciate and urban folk to admire. Before we fuse styles from “inter-cultural dialogue” we must first know how to speak our own language fully. If not, then we are giving new country dancers a disservice by offering minimal depth and we are disrespecting the last living cultural dance by refusing to use every color it has to offer before we look to other cultures to tell us how to dance to our music. Every sub-genre contains all 5 traditional styles of dance, how many do you know?

A nostalgist, conservationist, and a hell of a barn burner. Florida’s Favorite Son will be sorely missed. Rest easy. by @honkyheaters

What is outlaw about corporatism, militarized police, and government overreach? Remember Blair Mountain.

Also, why is the criticism always about artists with “progressive” ideas? I’ve yet to see any legend criticize @natesmith cringy crying over a MAGA hat

Guess you can call us the Honky Tonk Power Rangers.

Five different lanes. One culture. One network.

It all funnels back to the flagship at @honkytonktraditions , with the conversation, stories, and current happenings carried through @honkytalkinpodcast

When I started HTT in 2021, I never expected it to become this. I simply wanted to serve where I didn’t see enough people stepping forward to lead—to engage, educate, and enrich the entire culture surrounding country music, dancing, agriculture, craftsmanship, the outdoors, and the people keeping those traditions alive.

There is more country content online than ever. But content alone isn’t the goal.

We want people willing to serve their corner of the culture.

That’s why we’re building The Last Honky Network: a group of creators across the country, each leading their own niche with their own voice, knowledge, personality, and community—while HTT helps connect and amplify the strongest work.

We’re currently looking for people interested in leading:

Honky Dancing — country dancing, etiquette & dance culture
Honky Heaters — country, western, bluegrass & folk music
Honky Hearth — cooking, canning, craftsmanship & homemaking
Honky Heeler — ranchers, farmers, roughies & working the ground
Honky Hunting — hunting, conservation & outdoor tradition

We’re not looking for five versions of HTT. We’re looking for people who know their lane and want to make it their own.

If you have the passion, expertise, and desire to serve one of these communities, DM us or tag somebody who should be part of the herd.

Many hands make light work.

How can we serve you? by @honkyheaters

One page was never going to be enough.
We’re building something bigger—more voices, more lanes, same standard. If one of these channels calls to you, comment “Herd” or tag somebody who belongs in it. by @honkyheaters

“What does quality mean to you?” The Wilder Blue.

These boys have yet to not make a damn good album, and they play an even better show. So much soul, so much funk, so much fun. They got it going on. by @honkyheaters

My favorite type of newsfeed palette cleanse. Just picking and talking.
