Amethyst I on Life4 DDR Rankings

POSTS STORIES REELS

WAY late on this but I FINALLY AAA'D CHROMATIC BURST!!!

Got it on my birthday too!! Was my 60th 17 AAA so that also got me Emerald on Life4 at the same time!!! I'd gotten ill-starred and a crazy clutch on London A just before for 58 and 59, original plan was Avenger for 60 but I ran a 955 on that. Was NOT happening 😭😭

Been going for this for a longgggg time!!! I believe it was O-KEI's video on YouTube alongside Notty and Kaaru I was studying a lot about a year ago and made my first couple videos on the chart.

Next stop is actually EX'ing it realistically but if I can clean up the beginning and keep tight on the end PFC is very distantly possible, would probably be my best score I'm not even gonna lie idek where I'd go from there for twisty stuff LMAO

I guess shutter girl????? by @hopecaster.nw

This song is soooooo goooooodddd

I mentioned wanting to AAA this before I even had any D17 AAA's bout when this came out, but couldn't hit a lot of it for a while. Wouldn't be able to move past the fun part at the beginning.

I've AAA'd this pretty much twice at this point 😭😭😭 998910 first pass then this run almost immediately after where it would've prolly been about 990500 or 991k. by @hopecaster.nw

When i first started playing drummania a couple years ago i found out this song was on there. I'm a fan of the ddr 14 for it but overall not a big fan of jacks so i never played it much.

Finding out I could play the drums for this was fantastic, but it's always kicked my ass in one way or another every run I've tried to do. This was my first 8 pass aside from GHOST and I've wanted 140 for sooooo long!!!

The rolls are really fun but I'd lose my stick all the time in the ones going across green and red. The ending was also really hard, couldn't keep coordination on my left hand with all the hi-hat but it's all finally clicked last night!!

If I figure out that left pedal section I can totally FC this, but that'll take a wholeee lot more work 😭 by @hopecaster.nw

I revisited a few 7.10 songs i had under 120 and came across this one. I got the hang of the groove at the end of my first attempt, played some more ddr in between then came back to it for this video.

I had to use 110% of my brain, I'm achieving peak limb independence; better than when I actually played the drums. It felt so good to actually be able to do this to any extent, 110 is nuts for me on a hi-hat pedal chart so almost 120 is unheard of.

I really think I can FC this if I put enough work into it and it'd be by far my best FC in anything involving drumming, between 15+ years of rock band and the 2 years I've been playing Drummania.

Not anywhere near as intensive as other FC's I've done but the sheer technicality of it compared to what I've been able to do recently would eclipse almost anything I've done prior I'm really excited for this breakthrough.

Absolutely love this chart, I super wanna get this to 160 skill rating. I'm stuck ~152-155 so I'll have to refine a bunchhhhh of what I'm already doing here to squeeze any more points outta this one.

Holding a 16th roll that fast that long is very satisfying with keeping track of where the bass kicks fall, super brain-scratching chart especially with the whips over to red and orange. I just need to hit em next time.

Also giving in and finally using hashtags. Hello to anyone that finds this!!

I've been talking about passing my first 19 for over a year now but haven't actually tried. I decided last night was the time.

I was rotating through MAX 360, VOLA, and Valkyrie. Valk I couldn't even get through the beginning on normal gauge, MAX could maybe happen for #2 but VOLA was nowhere near any of my plans.

I don't do well with footspeed stamina and physical-wise so i thought it wouldn't be possible. After much convincing and conferring I finally ran it, was told after i get out of the middle stream I was home free but i died at the very end of the stream pretty much every run except for this one.

I get loud at the end, but 846k on a 19 was not a possibility for me ever in my mind. I've got a bunch more knowledge on how to go for this now and I think I'm gonna take a crack at it whenever I'm feeling up to it; ideally every session from here on. by @hopecaster.nw

This is an extremely fun song. I love hi-hat heavy charts and this is exactly what I've been looking for.

Reminds me of Orange Crush Expert Drums in that your right hand is moving about the kit as you're maintaining the roll with your left, except with a lot more distance covered here.

Definitely going to try and FC this one, there's nothing too egregious it's a big consistency check. by @hopecaster.nw

This was ridiculous, came into it 988k just wanted to record me executing it and maybe get a AAA but everything worked this time around 👀👀👀👀👀

Was coming off of #SolsticeArena stuff and wanted to blow myself up last few sets and ran a few 17s, this being the last of the set.

Shoutouts to Rising Fire Hawk and The Island Song for inadvertently training my stepjumps/minijacks, and most important of all a massive shoutout to BUTTERFLY (20th Anniversary Mix) ESP 16. That has similar twisty patterns to this and was my first 16, i consider setsuna The Second Coming of that chart and it's glorious

Let's hope Instagram uploads this properly this time by @hopecaster.nw

Forgot to write a description on roppongi cuz Im still figuring out the editing option.

Did a doubles draw with Shilo a bit ago, only just now getting to upload it. Roppongi was their protect and i figured I was down for a violent set, this might be one of the few draws i upload all 3 songs of cuz all of em were nuts, this one especially.

Roppongi has the shock factor of the ending but this one's rude all throughout, I'm not sure why it's not an 18 to be entirely honest. This came up in Solstice Daikenkai but it was the only song of that set I didn't play, and i was right in that assessment at the time imo LMAO

It's so rough. so much movement, so much weird movement, you get some breaks but even the section on the freeze before The Part on the singles actually goes to the music on doubles so there's not much of em on this 😭😭 by @hopecaster.nw

Been doing some card draws with people recently and I've been recording all of my sets with em. I haven't done many outside of last week and I already love the format.

We rolled this and I forgot which one of us picked it but it's not as nasty as I thought it would've been on doubles. Not too many crosses outside of the beginning and very end with some transitions i still don't quite get. by @hopecaster.nw

I wrote way more on the YouTube upload of this but I still can't really believe what i ended up doing tonight.

4 17 AAA's, 3 singles 1 doubles (my first one too!!!!!) and almost got this one a couple times as well. PB atm is 988k so i know it'll happen eventually

Wanted to record this cuz SBLMNL asked if i could, shoutout to her!!! Also wanted to so i could study how i do the ending.

I didn't execute everything right the first time, still really didn't this time. There's one part i doublestepped i gotta figure out but otherwise i did it exactly how i wanted to, with a consistent score too just a couple more drops this time. by @hopecaster.nw
