🌻 Sprocket’s Sunflower Cage Theme 🌻 Hi lovely friends! 👋🏻 This setup has been shared on YouTube already, but I wanted to post photos of it here too! For Spring/Summer I decided to give Sprocket a Sunflower theme (with some added bee elements). 🐝 Sprocket has been enjoying this setup very much and it’s so cheery with lots for him to do! It always makes me smile to walk past his cage and see the bright yellow colors. 🥹 Supplies are listed below and you can also find his full length cage tour on YouTube. 🎥 If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Tomorrow, October 8th is Rivet’s 1 year adoption hammiversary! 🎉🥳🎊 Where do I even begin? This little guy has been an absolute JOY and blast to care for this past year and I’m so thankful to have found him! His antics never fail to make me and HoppingHubby laugh as he’s a wild, energetic, broccoli-loving, black-and-white fluff ball who dashes through his tubes when he hears people around and is always looking for more snackies to be handed out! (Don’t let him fool you by looking hungry all the time though…his many food stashes are beyond anything I’ve ever seen! 😆) Oh Rivet, you’ve brought us so much happiness and we hope your life is much better than it ever could have been otherwise. To celebrate, I will be giving him all his favorite things in the world - broccoli, oat sprays, and millet! 🥦 🌾 Happy Hammiversary Rivet! 🖤🥹🤍 by @hoppinghammyofficial

🐝 Rivet’s Bee Cage Theme 🐝 Happy Monday, the start of a fresh, new week! I wanted to share Rivet’s Bee cage theme here for Summer, which also has some sunflower elements included! 🥹 Rivet is active, adventurous, and always has a ton of fun exploring new setups so it’s nice he has 2 different tanks now that I can decorate and give him plenty to explore. (I’m already planning out his next setups hehe!) Supplies are listed below and you can also find his full length cage tour on YouTube. 🎥 If you have any questions please feel free to ask! (As a side note, it’s hard to tell by the angle but there’s 10” of bedding on the left side. Please remember he also has the additional tank to burrow in if he wishes to. 🙂)

Just sharing some cute goodies I’ve collected from my @happyhamstery orders! 🥰 🐹📦 I’ve placed 9 orders with them so far and always look forward to the adorable hamster stickers that are included, as well as the encouraging and uplifting Bible cards, which I hope to eventually collect enough of to store in a little box for days that are hard. I also love to collect the “Thank you for your order!” cards which have a “Lovingly packed for you by - (name)” sticker. 😄 So fun! (Can anyone tell me if I have them all yet so I can jump up and yell “Bingo!!” 🤣 ) If you’re looking for a sweet company who cares about hamsters and who gives a personalized touch to each order, I highly recommend Happy Hamstery! ❤️

Hi hamster community! 😄 Would you be interested in seeing YOUR hamster cage setup featured in my Community Cage Showcase video series? If so, there are a few quick requirements and rules to read through first! ⬇️ I am working on preparing the next cage feature video and would need your submissions sent in a timely manner, ideally no later than Friday of this week.

🐹 1. I need high quality photos without text on it (preferably horizontal/wide format and not vertical, Instagram format images).

🐹 2. No videos please, just photos.

🐹 3. Please send at least 1-2 wide shots of the entire setup, and then a few additional close up shots of the same setup.

🐹 4. Your hamster’s setup & account MUST showcase proper care requirements (ie: appropriate sized cage, supplies, bedding, and safe care.

🐹 5. This month’s theme is OPEN for all! (That means no specific theme is required, but if your cage is themed that’s okay too!)

🐹 6. Please send me the highest quality images you have to my Instagram DM inbox and include your hamster’s name along with it.

🐹 7. I will credit each person’s Instagram username on your cage photos in the video.

🐹 8. If you submitted a cage setup for my previous Episode #1 already (which was Christmas/Holiday themed), please sit out this time in order to give others a chance. (Unless I don’t get any submissions at all…haha, in which case I will open it back up to anyone who wants to participate.) 😄

Thank you! Let me know if you have any other questions. If you would like to check out my previous Community Cage Showcase video, just type that in the search bar on my channel and it will pull it up for you. 😊 I hope this series continues to be something you all enjoy seeing and can help give exposure to many of the great accounts here on Instagram! ❤️ by @hoppinghammyofficial

Happy 6 month Hammiversary to Rivet! 🥳🎉 This month we also celebrated Sprocket’s 1 year gotcha day, but I just realized it’s Rivet’s 6 month mark too! What an eventful month! Rivet was adopted in October of last year and his full adoption story video is on my channel, but he had been in the back room of PetSmart for about 4.5 months and none of the workers wanted to take him home. He was pulled from the floor due to being unsellable and “aggressive.” My husband and I think he was just highly stressed and irritated from being kept in a very small space with no enrichment, because we don’t see true aggression in Rivet. He’s just FULL of energy, easily excitable, and needs a lot of space and stimulation to keep occupied. 🐹 He doesn’t act like an aggressive hamster though and has sat on my husband’s hand before, and also we’ve snuck in a few pets on his back. 🤭🤫 He also gets VERY excited when he hears me around the cage and comes running downstairs for a treat. Rivet thrives with adventure, new cage themes, any type of foraging toy, dried sprays, treats, and loves running through his tunnels to get to his other cages. Recently (well, almost 3 months ago) he was given an add-on tank and has been enjoying that thoroughly! Happy 6 months to our hyper, silly, energetic little dude! I can’t imagine life without Rivet! He truly lights up the room and makes us smile every time he’s around! 🥹🥰🖤🤍 by @hoppinghammyofficial

Here’s an older photo of Sprocket that I never shared yet. He’s such a fluffy cutie! 🥰 🤎 Unfortunately Sprocket is not a fan of lights or photos, so I very rarely get pictures of him out and about anymore. As much as I’d love to take pictures and videos of him for memories, I choose to respect his preferences and not force anything on him. He’s so sweet though and does make an appearance when the lights are dim! Last night he poked his little head out of his underground burrow when he heard me with snackies, and enjoyed a yummy piece of raspberry. He was a big fan of that and was smacking his lips / licking his paws awww! He also got a new, updated cage setup a few days ago and he seems to like it very much! It’s a Sunflower / Bee theme and I will share photos and videos of that setup in the upcoming month! 🌻🐝 by @hoppinghammyofficial

I might have a little secret to share in tomorrow’s video upload, and it has to do with this cutie! 🤭🤫🖤🤍 Any guesses? by @hoppinghammyofficial

One year ago today, Sprocket came home with me and my 5 or so year-long hiatus away from hamsters finally ended! 🎉🥳 What a wonderful day and a day I had long looked forward to for a while! It took a very special hamster to get me back into owning hamsters again as I had gone through a period of burnout and tremendous anxiety surrounding owning hamsters and caring for them. I’m so grateful to have found Sprocket as he’s a wonderful, sweet, well-behaved and special boy. (He’s sort of a “momma’s boy” as he generally interacts with me more than my husband.) He has the most luxurious, long fur, some special quirks that make him unique, as well as an allergy to nuts which I have to be mindful of with any food or treat I feed him. He LOVES running on the wheel and runs for hours every night, is very much a ghost hamster who won’t come out unless the lights are dim or off entirely, and he’s very gentle whenever taking treats. Sprocket also gave me the chance at many new opportunities this past year including becoming an ambassador with @happyhamstery , a chance at reviewing a @proleehamster cage , a lovely box of @tafitpet supplies (including a wheel which he loves), and so much more! I am incredibly grateful and happy to be back on YouTube making hamster videos and interacting with all of my lovely hamster friends again! I estimate Sprocket to be roughly around 1 year and 4 months old now and even though he’s approaching senior hood soon, I hope he will be around for awhile more. I love you so much Sprocket…my fuzzy little dude! ❤️🥹🤎 Please wish him a happy 1 year Hammiversary! P.s. By the way, I have been so insanely busy with life stuff the past many months that I haven’t had a chance to take new photos of Sprocket, plus he doesn’t enjoy coming out for photoshoots so I don’t force him to. I would have loved to have a well-put-together post of new photos and lots of past videos and memories to share…but I just don’t have time for that sort of thing anymore. It’s hard not to feel guilty, but each season of life is different. Tonight I plan to give him a few special treats even though he’s not a “foodie,” especially his favorite fruit - cantaloupe! 🤤 by @hoppinghammyofficial

What an INSANE year it’s been already!!!! 🤪😅 First I switched over my computer and entire workflow from a Windows PC to a Mac. (LOVE it btw!) Then I changed my editor from 15 yr old Avid Studio to Final Cut Pro. Following that, my husband and I started major office renovations to make the atmosphere more cozy and conducive to working, including putting up brick acoustic panels. I got a new computer monitor, which took forever to research and pick out. I also gave Rivet a new ADD-ON space to explore, which he is thriving in and living his best life!! 🥹❤️ Then I got another wonderful @happyhamstery box in the mail, as well as a @sendhamstermail box which I can’t wait to open and share those videos! And then this past week I got super sick and am recovering from a bad cold and coughing, so I’m very behind on posts and videos but now you know why! 🤣 P.s. Sprocket is doing well too! 🤎 I look forward to life calming down a bit! 🙃 by @hoppinghammyofficial
