Something a bit different but still related to food & drink 😆 I braved the weather and headed to the @hotwallsstudios for my first ever punch needle workshop with the fabulous and talented Lily, who owns @tigerlilytufts.

Along with five others, Lily taught us how to make our own coasters/mug rugs with a simple design. Since it’s Halloween, I went for a pumpkin and I’m so proud of how it turned out 🎃

It’s going to have pride of place on my work desk. Plus, I think I may have found my next creative obsession 🤩😍

Lily runs so many lovely workshops, from punch needle to making your own rugs using a rug gun, so there’s plenty to get creative and book your next workshop. Thank you Lily for such a fun evening.

Applications for The Windbreaks exhibition 2026/2027 is now open! 🎉

The Windbreaks is a Portsmouth City Council project providing new opportunities for the local arts community to exhibit their work in the public realm. Five double sided windbreak panels offer space to display ten large-scale artworks, creating an outdoor gallery on the promenade, which is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Applications from this open call are being considered for the December 2026 to March 2027 exhibition period and for further exhibitions later in the year.

April 2027 - July 2027 period is reserved for a Portsmouth and Caen Twinning Anniversary exhibition which will be a separate application.

We're proud to support and lift up local artists, and are excited to extend this opportunity to display your art in this prime location on Southsea seafront.

Applications close on Sunday 15th November. Link in bio.

The Windbreaks is proudly sponsored by VolkerStevin and Boskalis Westminster.
