This music is the result of a friendship established in Mexico between Marius Houschyar, Fabio Levi, Mazatl Alvarez and Mich Rubio who came together in the gardens of Central Mexico for spiritual and sonic exploration.
All songs were recorded outside at the ranch of Mazatls father in Michoacán and the magical garden of the wise Abuelos in Mexico State between cactus plants and gigantic trees. The music contains mostly indigenous instruments such as flutes and ceremonial percussion instruments, as well as classical guitar, electric bass, a persian Santoor and one small keyboard.
The song texts are improvised prayers in English, Spanish and Nahuatl. Every recording session started with a guided meditation and ultimately turned into a spiritual journey. A psychedelic trip telling of holy lands, the great spirits that inhabit it and a newborn, yet ancient brotherhood.

Hey world, I proudly present our project “Habitat Ensemble”. 🌿

More than a year ago we did our artist residency as Leštnice z.s Collective in the infamous magical little village of Maříž. Besides many other individual projects of researching end experimenting, we explored the connection within our community by making music together. I set up a place for musical experimentation in the old barn of our cottage and invited all of the participants to join. No rules were set, no standards. The idea was to give my friends the opportunity to try out new things, explore their own character and reflect the environment in a sonic way. Everyone contributed in their own way, some of us played guitars or percussions, others sang and wrote poems. Afterwards I went through hours and hours of recordings, found the most representative pieces and cut them together in order to create a summary of us, the village and our doing. The outcome of our efforts is now, after one year of work, finally published on the great @music_from_memory

To me this project is especially important as I know many of the participants since a very long time. Seeing people that I know since my childhood being now together on one album, just brings me pure joy. Every little part of it excites me, whether it is seeing the ideas of my friends manifest themselves or hearing their voices on a record. It’s incredible.

I am so happy to see the final product now and want to thank everyone involved. Special thanks to Tako and Jamie, who I have been speaking to very frequently and who we miss deeply. Many many thanks also to Francesco Fonassi and Carsten Dämbkes for all the conversations and work on the mixing. Furthermore a big thanks to all my friends who are part of this and everyone who supported our ideas.

Since Elderberries played a significant role in the album, they made it on the cover and in the last slide the post you can find @einclarahimmel 's recipe for an incredible Elderberry Sauce.

Find out more about the story behind this work and our residency on our website (lestnice.org) or on the beautiful insert inside of the record.

No words needed..🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸 by @houschyar.m

Last year I had the chance to design the communication and structure for the Avenir Juste Campaign, Luxemburg. For the first time in the country’s history four NGOs came together to collaborate on common objectives. The goal of campaign was to present the new project Avenir Juste and visualize the overlapping values of the NGOs.

In great collaboration with @lisa.tsumakova , I structured the campaign substantively and visually and created a flexible, scalable design system built to adapt across print, social, and digital media. In December 2025 the campaign was visible throughout the whole country on digital screens, bus stations, city buses, online and many other carriers and aimed to bring colour into grey winter.

Special thanks to @gunes.kardes for the great animation of my illustrations. by @houschyar.m

I’ll be in Athens between 6-10 October for the Aman Aman Exhibition at @tavros.space which is opening on 8th Oct 19.00.

This is one of those rare times when research completely swallowed me whole. As I was searching for the early Ottomans and their music who migrated to New York when their world was collapsing, the boundary blurred—I had become one myself.

Bringing this project into the world was only possible thanks to the care and brilliance of so many:
To my dearest @houschyar.m , for the longest Zoom meetings and bringing this visual world to life, I couldn’t have this record without him
Deepest gratitude to @kounadis_archive Panagiotis Kounadis and the Kounadis Archive Virtual Museum for opening up this immense world of memory and sound.
To my soul sister @deboraipekel (@zelzelerecords )Thank you for your guidance through every step of making a record.
Also to Gunnar Wendel from Rand Music
To my dearest @ekincangoksoy for the delicate Ottoman translations.
To the @e.senkardes for the title spark.
And to the wonderful Tavros team—Eirini @irenefoud , Maria-Thalia @mariathalia_carras , and Natasa—for championing and holding space for this journey along the way. 🤍 by @houschyar.m

More than a year ago I had the honour to reimagine a cover for the first vinyl issue of a rather late release of one of the greatest musicians to have visited earth.

Pharoah Sanders & Bill Laswell | With a Heartbeat

Originally released in 2003, With A Heartbeat brings together Pharoah Sanders, Bill Laswell and Graham Haynes in a collaboration that remains as elusive as it is forward-thinking. Inspired by the original cover and even more the music itself I tried to visualise the feeling of a ripple effect creating motion around an epicenter - the heartbeat.

Thanks to @glossymario__ and @glossy.mistakes for putting this on wax and trusting me with the design.

A few weeks back I had the pleasure to perform a DJ Set at Noisy Words, a festival where noise is explored as rupture and disruption—not only as an acoustic phenomenon, but as an expression of resistance, memory, and multiplicity curated by @__e__v at @goetheinstitut_athen .

As discussed before the focus laid more on non-western music, so my take was an extensive sound collage of archive music I have collected over the years. With a strong focus on memory the set evolves around crackles, bits and pieces extracted from a wide selection of forgotten recordings and contemporary pieces from Central Asia, Middle East and Greece.

IT’S CHANGED, OUR IDENTITY HAS CHANGED

10 years is a long time and we have gone through many changes in the way we talk, we share our ideas, we shape our little universe. It has been colourful and it has been dark, it has been eclectic and it has been messy and beautiful at the same time. After 10 years it’s time to put it all together.

Together with @houschyar.m we have been working on giving De Gudde Universe a cohesive visual identity, a colourful structure that unites all our activities, lives and voices.

We discussed, experimented, played around, got lost and confused, went small and big, argued and became friends again and now here we are.

You will find new little and big changes in the way we communicate our shows, our locations, our program and club nights. You will see some handmade illustrations and a lot of love to details, you may play with many tags and agenda, you will see it online and offline, but most importantly you will see it.
