Have you heard of Kaizen before?

#kaizen #spirit #zen #kai #work by @house.of.kaizen

I left the golden handcuffs twice.

The first time I walked away from a good job in Silicon Valley to build something of my own. It didn’t go the way I hoped. So I went back to corporate, which is the part I used to skip over when I told this story. Steady paycheck, respectable title, a life that was easy to explain at dinner.

Then I left again.

That second time worked. We went through YC, raised $18M, built it into a nine-figure company, and helped more than 50,000 people start careers in tech. It also came with the stretches I don’t post about. The ones where you’re not sure the company makes it, and you’re not sure you do either.

I could walk you through exactly how to scale a company. Learning how to scale the person running it took me another twenty years, and I’m still working on it.

Nobody taught me that part. There wasn’t a room for it. Every event I went to was about the company. None of them were about the person carrying it.

So I’m building the one I wish I’d had.

Three days in the redwoods with founders, builders and creators. Away from the noise, with people asking the same questions you are. Mind, body, business and soul, because in my experience none of it moves without the rest.

Come find out what you’re really here to build.

You’re building something. But is it building you? 💭

Somewhere along the way, building started to mean bracing. More growth, more noise, more force... and less of whatever made you start in the first place.

We believe every life is shaped by three forces: the story you tell, the systems you build, and the soul you build them with. When they drift apart, we compensate with hustle. When they come back into alignment, work becomes a way.

That’s what Camp Kaizen is for.

Three days beneath redwoods older than every company that ever existed. A small circle of founders, builders, and creators.

You’ll leave with your story told truthfully, your systems examined honestly, and your reason for building close enough to touch again.

改善 — kaizen — means change for the better. Not a sprint. A practice. This October, we practice together.

Three years ago I was $240,000 in the hole, wondering how I was going to make payroll.

My CMO was gone. My co-founder had just quit. I had two options: close the company, or personally take on a $350,000 loan at 35% interest with payments due every week.

I took the loan.

Everything I had learned as an entrepreneur told me to work harder, push harder, keep going. So I did, until I realized force was never going to rebuild me.

What changed everything was learning to ask better questions. About the stories I believed. About the systems I had built on top of them. About the soul underneath all of it, and why any of this mattered to me in the first place.

Today that company is a nine-figure business. The bigger transformation happened in me. I stopped building from force and started building from alignment.

One question has followed me ever since: what would entrepreneurship look like if the people building the future were as committed to evolving themselves as they are to scaling their companies?

That question became Camp Kaizen.

Three days in the Mendocino redwoods with founders, builders and creators. October 15–18.

We start this week. A few spots are still open, including weekend passes if you can only make Friday through Sunday.

You can build a great company and still lose yourself along the way. ⚡️

So we’re taking founders into the redwoods to remember what matters, reconnect with who they’re becoming, and build what comes next.

This is Camp Kaizen—where stories shift, systems strengthen, and soul comes back into the work.

The trailer is here.
Step into the redwoods. Return to coherence. ⚡️🌲

#CampKaizen #FounderEvolution #ReturnToCoherence #founders #redwoods by @house.of.kaizen

I’ve met so many founders and entrepreneurs who are building incredible things in the world, yet behind closed doors, their marriages are suffering, their children are getting whatever energy is left at the end of the day, and their health is paying a price they haven’t fully come to terms with.

I understand why…

We convince ourselves that it’s just a season. That after the next milestone, the next deal, or when there’s finally enough money in the bank, we’ll have the freedom to slow down and be present for the people we love.

I’ve come to see that for many of us, there’s something much deeper driving all that ambition.

Somewhere along the way we learned that our value comes from what we produce, that slowing down means falling behind, or that being needed gives us a sense of worth we haven’t learned to find within ourselves.

I know because I’ve lived it.

I poured years of my life into building a global men’s movement, believing with every fiber of my being that I was fulfilling my soul’s purpose.

While I was helping other men face their demons and find their way back to themselves, I was losing touch with parts of myself and my own life that desperately needed my attention.

Eventually, it all caught up with me. My marriage, business, and health demanded my attention. I came closer than I ever imagined to losing the people and the life I was doing it all for.

The only way forward was to face the heartbreak I had been avoiding.

That experience changed what success means to me, and it’s why I’m so grateful for what’s emerging with Camp Kaizen.

Because through experience, I know that the way we build matters just as much as what we’re building.

October 15–18, I’ll be in the redwoods of Mendocino with founders, entrepreneurs, and creators exploring regenerative entrepreneurship and what it means to build a meaningful life without sacrificing ourselves or the people we love in the process.

I’ll be sharing and facilitating the experience and I’d love to meet you there.

If you can’t make the full gathering, there’s a weekend option with lodging and meals included. Answer the call and join us!

HABITAAT is coming to the redwoods. 🌲🔥

We’re so excited to announce that HABITAAT (@habitaatmusic) will headline Friday night at Camp Kaizen at Regen World, with SWAYLÓ (@swaylo) opening the night on the main stage.

HABITAAT is the project of Brazil-born, Bay Area-raised producer Tomas Wischerath, who blends field recordings and tribal percussion with bass-heavy electronic music, and has supported Bonobo and played Red Rocks. SWAYLÓ brings global house and drums from around the world, with sets at Electric Forest, Envision and EDC Mexico.

HABITAAT’s whole project is about connecting people with nature and with each other. It’s hard to think of a better place for it than the middle of the redwoods.

We’d love for you to be there with us. Come for Camp Kaizen, and stay for a night of music in the forest you won’t forget.

Your complexity is not the problem. Your need to be easily understood is.
You can be disciplined and spiritual. Strategic and creative. Analytical and deeply intuitive. The work isn't to choose one acceptable identity. It's to become coherent enough to hold all your parts without needing to say sorry. by @house.of.kaizen

Pavel Aeon @noaaonofficial is joining us in the redwoods 🌲✨

Some people teach from a stage. Pavel teaches from stillness. The kind that’s hard to find when you’re running a company, a team, a life at full speed.

He’s the founder of Upper Aeon @upperaeon and the creator of System Reset™, a practice for stepping out of autopilot and back into yourself. He’s shared rooms with Richard Branson, Dave Asprey and Jim Kwik, from Davos to the Biohacking Conference. But what he really does is simpler than the résumé: he helps people slow down long enough to hear themselves again.

This October, he’ll bring System Reset™ to Camp Kaizen… one session, under the redwoods, with a small group of people who came to grow slow.

The measure of your leadership quality is relative to the degree your people are vulnerable and open with you. When you learn to regulate, stay curious and treat disagreement as useful data instead of personal attacks, watch how quickly your tribe starts contributing what they really see. by @house.of.kaizen
