ROUGH DRAFT FESTIVAL returns next week!! First up: Skin to Skin: Triptych of an American Epidemic! SKIN TO SKIN puts the experiences of Black women at the center of a theatrical exploration of health, care and survival. Moving between the deeply personal and the systemic, the work asks what it means to live in a body whose pain, needs and experiences are too often filtered through institutions and assumptions beyond its control. At once intimate and urgent, SKIN TO SKIN opens a conversation about who receives care, who is heard and what it means to claim authority over one’s own body. ✍️ Jeremy J. Kamps and Trixie Ndanu Kioko Presented in partnership with Houses on the Moon Theater Company 🎭 Skin to Skin: Triptych of an American Epidemic 📆 10/27 at 7pm & 10/28 at 2:30pm 📍 LPAC’s Little Theater 🎟️ Free RSVP at Lpac.nyc #JeremyJKamps #TrixieNdanuKioko #RoughDraftFestival #IMAROUGHDRAFT #LPAC by @housesonthemoon
“Your walk can tell stories you don’t yet understand And your body speaks words your mouth never can. Your walk is resistance. Your walk is a prayer. Your walk is a riot. Your walk is a dare. They can’t take your dignity. If in your mind you know you’re free” –-”This is How We Walk,” from “Your Hands are the Road” Happy #NationalComingOutDay from Houses on the Moon! However you share them, your stories are welcome here. 🌈 Since 1988, National Coming Out Day highlights the courage of openly LGBTQ+ individuals, and the value of safe and affirming spaces for Queer expression.
