HOVERAir Versa

A waterproof, buoyant selfie drone AND controller 🤯💦

The HOVERAir AQUA is built to go where most drones wouldn’t dare, and the Lighthouse controller takes the experience to another level.

I’ve been putting both through their paces, including out on the water! 🌊 Stay tuned for my kayak test 🛶

Drop it 💦

I’m pretty selective about the gear I bring on my adventures. If I’m going to add something to my kit, I want to know it can actually keep up with me.

The AQUA drone honestly surprised me. It was incredibly easy to use, and I loved not having to constantly worry about it while flying over water. If it flipped upside down, the Turtle Flip feature made it easy to get it back into position and launch again. That was such a relief when flying over a lake.

It also felt extremely well-built and durable, which is something I really value in adventure gear.

The flight modes were probably my favourite part. I could choose different modes directly from the drone’s screen depending on the shot I wanted, including Kayak Mode, Follow, Orbit Follow, Zoom Out, Bird’s Eye and Spiral. The automated modes made it so easy to get interesting, dynamic shots without having to manually control every movement. Honestly, the footage I got using the automated modes was much better than what I could capture when manually flying it.

I also downloaded the app on my phone and used it during the shoot, but I honestly didn’t feel like I needed it. Being able to control everything directly from the drone’s built-in screen was incredibly convenient.

It’s versatile, incredibly easy to fly, and definitely a drone I’ll be bringing along on future adventures. 🏔️
