Oh Hey💘….

God did….and so did I👩🏽‍🎓

To Thee Illustrious Ivy League Hampton University:

These past four years have given me so much more than a degree. They gave me purpose. They gave me confidence. They reintroduced me to myself in ways I never imagined possible. At an institution rooted in Black excellence, tradition, and greatness, I truly blossomed.

This journey was not easy. I experienced loss, heartbreak, uncertainty, and moments where I truly did not know how I would make it through. Losing both of my grandparents while trying to continue this journey tested me deeply. There were even moments I almost did not make it to this stage because of things beyond my control. But through every obstacle, God kept me. He carried me even when I felt weak.

To the Psych Department:

Thank you for becoming a home to me. Psychology is near and dear to my heart, and being surrounded by professors who saw greatness in me before I fully saw it in myself changed my life. They challenged me, pushed me to be my absolute best, and expected nothing less because they knew what I was capable of. Their unwavering support, encouragement, and belief in me carried me through some of my hardest moments.

It has been such a privilege to be taught, mentored, and poured into by successful Black women flourishing in the field of psychology. A privilege I will never take lightly. Thank you for showing me what excellence, resilience, and grace look like.

To my family and friends:

Thank you for every prayer, every sacrifice, every encouraging word, every phone call, and every moment you reminded me not to give up. This accomplishment belongs to all of us.
