Insectapalooza! by @hummelpriscilla

We weren't sure if we'd be able to make the @spcaoftompkinscounty March for the Animals this year with Mike's current health issues. But Lila was heartbroken at the idea and she hasn't missed a year since being born, and we haven't missed a year since coming back to Ithaca, so we knew we had to make it! Lila made sure each pet had a special costume. Darla did great around all the dogs, Pogo had a great time, and Shadow decided she didn't want to walk anymore (think she was boycotting the costume). Happy 25th March for the Animals to the Tompkins County SPCA! by @hummelpriscilla

Earlier this week, Lila came home to find out that her favorite band, The Interrupters, had released a new song. She decided to make up a dance on the spot and had me record it. We posted it on Instagram, and the singer Aimee shared her video! by @hummelpriscilla

Despite the recent hospital stay, we were still able to attend the Pumpkin Fest where Lila rode her first roller coaster! Some other recent fall fun including the return of Lila's alien friend. by @hummelpriscilla

This is strange for me to write, as I normally keep my social media happy. Last Wednesday I was supposed to be in Brooklyn seeing Weezer for a show I was so excited about. Instead I found myself in a hospital bed. One week ago I had one of the worst nights of my life with Crohn's symptoms. The next day I knew I needed to go to the ER. I arrived at 1:30 and didn't get seen until after 7pm. Then finally admitted to the hospital around midnight. My C-reactive protein was over 102 (should be below 8) and I was very very sick. I basically had no food Monday and into Tuesday, then clear liquids most of Wednesday, until I got the ultimate treat of plain white rice and steamed carrots Wednesday night, serioulsy, it was amazing. I was released from the hospital on Friday, but there is still a lot to figure out going forward. The liquid steroid injections definitely helped while I was there, but I am starting to fall back now that I am taking them orally as we try to find what's next.

But I wanted to say thank you to Priscilla for keeping everything together while I was there. It sure isn't easy with a 6 year old and 3 pets! Also everyone who stepped up to take care of Lila, who offered to take care of Lila even if we didn't end up needing it, and people who helped out in other generous ways.

Also, wanted to share the cute pic of Lila bringing me my childhood stuffed animal, Rover, and the stuffed animal Jack who was modelled after our old doggy. by @hummelpriscilla

Another magnificent season leading Ithaca College’s Summer Theatre Conservatory in the books! I’m so proud of our remarkable students who poured their hearts into this program for three weeks day in and day out. Their growth was evident, and their futures are bright.

Thank you to my incredible, inspiring team of colleagues and TAs for their dedicated instruction, mentorship, and care — I’m beyond grateful for each of you.

Congratulations, STC cohort of 2026 – we’re your biggest fans! 🎉🎭🩰🎼✨

9 years ago we went to NYC for a concert. Before the show, we went to check out a park. There was a pretty big surprise waiting for Priscilla though!♥️
