Building a Hunger Free Oklahoma takes all of us.

From local organizations serving their communities to advocates working for change at the state and national levels, we can do more when we work together.

We’re grateful to stand alongside partners doing this work every day and to have their backs along the way.

A look back at Hungry for Action 2026!

Throughout the day, we heard from people with lived experience, explored new ideas in breakout sessions, welcomed national experts for an unforgettable lunch panel, and celebrated organizations making a difference in their communities.

As HFO heads into its 10th year, it was a reminder of how much is possible when people bring their experiences and expertise to the table.

To everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special, thank you. The conference may be over, but we hope the connections you made and the ideas you took home are just the beginning.

We may be biased, but we think the people doing this work are pretty incredible. We’re grateful to be doing it alongside you.

Rising food costs and cuts to SNAP are putting additional pressure on the programs that help children and families access nutritious food.

In Oklahoma, roughly 275,000 students receive free school meals through CEP. New reporting from Harvest Public Media highlights the challenges facing these programs and what’s at stake for students and families.

We must protect and invest in the programs that make nutritious food accessible and affordable for all Oklahomans. by @hungerfreeok

A little love for the people that made it happen! ❤️

Turns out, putting on a statewide anti-hunger conference takes a whole lot of planning, teamwork, and probably more coffee than we’d care to admit.

We’re pretty proud of this crew for brining Hungry for Action 2026 to life!

A HUGE thank-you to the speakers, attendees, and partners for bringing your energy, expertise, and commitment to ending hunger in Oklahoma. And to our sponsors, thank you for helping make it all possible!

The conference may be over, the momentum doesn't stop here. More HFA highlights coming soon! by @hungerfreeok

Ten years ago, Hunger Free Oklahoma was founded on a simple but powerful belief: we can do more when we work together.

That vision has guided a decade of bringing partners together, strengthening access to food and nutrition programs, and advancing solutions to hunger across Oklahoma.

Over the past decade, we’ve seen what that looks like in action. Through challenges, unexpected crisis, and political turmoil, we have still made meaningful progress. One thing has remained constant: the people and partnerships behind this work.

As we celebrate ten years of Hunger Free Oklahoma, we’re reflecting on the moments that brought us here, the people who made them possible, and the shared commitment that continues to move us forward.
To everyone who has been part of this journey, thank you. This progress belongs to all of us.

There’s still so much work ahead, but we’re excited for what we can accomplish together.

There’s so much to celebrate when we look at the people and organizations working to make Oklahoma a state where everyone has access to the food they need to thrive.

In celebration of our 10th anniversary, we introduced the Judy Kishner Collaboration Award at the 2026 Hungry for Action Conference.

Made possible by a generous contribution from the Anne & Henry Zarrow Foundation, ten Oklahoma organizations each received $10,000 in recognition of their leadership, collaboration, and commitment to addressing hunger and food insecurity across our state.

Named in honor of Judy Kishner, the award celebrates organizations that understand the power of working together to remove barriers and create lasting change.

Congratulations to all ten recipients! We’re grateful for your partnership, your dedication, and the important work you do for Oklahoma communities. by @hungerfreeok

Earlier this month, we celebrated 10 years of Hunger Free Oklahoma with our Tulsa-area funders, partners, and friends. It was an evening to reflect on a decade of progress, celebrate the people who have made this work possible, and look ahead to what’s next.

A special part of the evening was recognizing Judy Kishner, Chair of the Anne & Henry Zarrow Foundation, with the HFO Champion Award.

From the very beginning, Judy has been one of HFO’s most dedicated supporters. Over the past decade, she has encouraged us, opened doors, and helped us dream bigger about what’s possible. Her generosity, advocacy, and unwavering belief in our mission have made a meaningful difference in our work and the communities we serve.

We’re incredibly grateful to Judy and everyone who has been part of HFO’s first decade. Thank you for believing in the possibility of a hunger-free Oklahoma and helping us move closer to that vision. by @hungerfreeok

Last week Iron Gate was honored to be recognized at the @hungerfreeok annual conference with the Judy Kishner Collaboration Award. Thank you to Judy Kishner, the #anneandhenryzarrowfoundation, and Hunger Free Oklahoma.

This award celebrates Iron Gate’s commitment to building partnerships in service of our mission to feed the hungry and homeless of Tulsa every day. by @hungerfreeok
