Greetings, everyone! I’m in a bit of a slump. Yesterday, while I was organizing my cosplays, I came to the realization that I should be reevaluate the cosplays I already made—and also my skills. I know, I know—I’m being hard on myself. Nevertheless, as a cosplayer who has been cosplaying for almost a decade, I want to improve. I have a lot of cosplans saved into my phone. However, I’m struggling to figure out how to make some of them due to their complexity (or complexities). With that being said, I’m not giving up. I want to do better with my cosplays. I’ve came so far—and yet the best is still yet to come! For now, enjoy this slideshow of some of my cosplays over the years! Later! #wip #cosplay #cosplaywip #cosplaywipwednesday #blackcosplayersofinstagram by @hynte.d.c
Greetings, everyone! I want to share to you all something I had in mind for (practically) a long time today. Here are some cosplay plans I have in mind for any costume competitions I decide to compete in! I’ll admit, this is a pretty…interesting idea for a video LOL. Though, I want to share this since I like being on stage from time to time and also like competing in costume competitions! Nevertheless, this will take YEARS if I fully commit to this, but…things can change, you know? Again, wish me luck! #cosplay #cosplans #blackcosplayer #cosplaywip #cosplan by @hynte.d.c
Well, I guess I’m ready for Halloween! . . . Here’s my cosplay of Majo Rika from Magical DoReMi! What do you all think! Hopefully, I’ll make more cosplays from the series! Also, again, many thanks to @crimsonwasabi for making my wig! #cosplay #blackcosplayer #blackcosplayersofinstagram #magicaldoremi #magicalgirltransformation by @hynte.d.c
Greetings, everyone! I spontaneously decided to work on yet another cosplay! 😅 This time, I’ll be cosplaying as Lebel the Western Witch from the illustrator Sakizo! For years, I’ve been wanting to cosplay as one of Sakizo’s illustrations—especially since I am a fan of the illustrations’ details! However, I wasn’t sure how I was going to bring any of these particular illustrations to life. Until now… Right now, I am working on drafting the dress. I’m also planning on making the staff, witch hat, and the corset (possibly out of EVA foam). My goal is to finish everything by the end of next summer for Nan Desu Kan 30’s Cosplay Masquerade! Wish me luck on yet another seemingly never ending journey! #cosplay #wip #cosplaywip #sakizo #sakizou by @hynte.d.c
Greetings, everyone! I’m (finally) back with another update! I’m still working on my Nia Teppelin (Gurren Lagann), and the due date I’m aiming to go for is (currently) 03/20/2027 for COAF! While I’m struggling with the bodice—by drafting yet another pattern—the skirt is coming up nicely! (Scroll through for more progress photos) Also, due to the skirt portion itself, I might make my very own hoop skirt/crinoline to support it. I don’t want to make the same mistake with letting the bottom drag on the ground like with my first Princess Peach cosplay—and I wore a hoop skirt for that…😬😬😬 With that being said, wish me luck on this project! #cosplay #wip #cosplaywip #gurrenlagann #gurrenlaganncosplay by @hynte.d.c
Greetings, everyone! I’m currently in the process of making my first foam clay bouquet of roses for my previously-mentioned Nia Teppelin (Gurren Lagann) cosplay! Scroll through to see my progress! It’s one of the easiest and entertaining projects I’ve done so far. Though, there have been some hiccups. (After spray painting the sticks, some of the dried clay and paint came off because they weren’t placed on a good surface.) Nevertheless, it’s an easy fix that won’t take forever. I’m just going to have to paint with acrylics this time. #gurrenlagan #cosplay #wip #foamclay #gurrenlaganncosplay by @hynte.d.c
Greetings, everyone! Feel free to ask me any more questions on my story happening right now (07/26/2026)! And again, please be nice—as in don’t ask any questions that are too mean-spirited. by @hynte.d.c
Greetings, everyone! It’s been a hot minute since I last posted anything other than an IG story… As this hot, HOT summer season comes and (eventually) goes, I’ve been working on a few cosplays for whichever upcoming convention I’ll end up attending—somehow. Currently, I’m in the process of making at least three projects. One of them is Nia Teppelin (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann) in her wedding dress!!! I’ve been wanting to make another Gurren Lagann cosplay since I cosplayed as Kamina back in 2018. (If you want to see that one, it’s…bad. However, I did post it here years ago, if you want to scroll down.) So far, I finished the rose crown/headband she wears in the anime (pictured). Now, I’ll just have to finish sewing the dress (not pictured) and making the bouquet (also not pictured)… I’ll keep you all updated as best as I can. For now, wish me luck on this new journey of mine! #cosplay #ballgowncosplay #wip #gurrenlagan #gurrenlaganncosplay by @hynte.d.c
Greetings, everyone! Yes, I’m working on another cosplay…😅 This time, I’ll be cosplaying as…Dark Oak from Sonic X — The Metarex Saga! Since I love making things from scratch—and I’ve yet to see someone cosplay as anyone from the Metarex (still searching)—I officially started working on this cosplay today! Here’s a backstory. For those of you that don’t know, this is a cosplay I have been wanting to do for at least a few years now. Back in the day—say late 2000s—Sonic X was one of my favorite animated shows to watch on Saturday mornings! (I’m now due for a rewatch…) IIRC, I watched practically every episode of Sonic X’s English dub that aired in the US for a while. And one particular thing I remember is how I used to HATE the Metarex so much! Looking back, I know it’s weird…but forgive me. I was young LOL.😂 Wish me luck on this journey of mine—especially since this will be my first full-fledged armor build! For now, stay tuned! #cosplay #wip #cosplaywip #metarexsaga #sonicthehedgehog by @hynte.d.c
Greetings, everyone! I’m going off the script for a bit… I made a…collectible toy (of some sort)! LOL Months ago, I decided to turn my version of SpongeBob SquarePants’ The Hash-Slinging Slasher into a personal, 3D-printed knick-knack (with a detachable spatula) for keeps! Originally, this was meant to be used as a template for my Hash-Slinging Slasher cosplay that’s still in the works, by the way… However, I’m still struggling on how I’ll make it, so this will do for now. 😅 Sooner or later, I’ll finish this 3D print. For now, what do you all think? #wip #3dprintinglife #3dprintedmodels #spongebob #hashslingingslasher by @hynte.d.c
Greetings, everyone! I’m almost done with the crown for my Princess Daisy cosplay! I just got to add some more gold paint after some pieces dry. However, I have a question. What do you all think about my prop? Is it good? Does it need any improvements? To help, I’ll explain what I did to make the symbols. For the “gems”, I used red and green hot glue sticks and a silicone mold to get each shape. Then, I covered most of each gem with foam Clay to cover holes. Finally, I painted each gem over with their respective color. As for the “borders”, I used foam clay and water to stick each of them on their respective sides. For the daisies, I used each green gel and hot glue to stick the gems onto the petals. As for the other two borders, I used the red gems to make a space for each to be placed into by pressing them down. After that, I used hot glue to keep them there. I hope that my explanation helps you all understand. (I’m not the absolute best with explaining things well. 😅) Thank you for reading! Stay tuned! #cosplay #wip #cosplaywip #blackcosplayer #cosplayhelp by @hynte.d.c
Greetings, everyone! I’m here with another update on my Princess Daisy cosplay! Throughout the past few days, I’ve been priming, sanding, priming again and eventually painting my 3D-printed props for this cosplay! I’m so glad that it’s coming altogether! It’s been quite a journey, though. I’ve never properly primed 3D prints up to this point, so I’m glad that I learned. Nevertheless, there are still plenty of things that I’ll have to practice when it comes to smoothing out 3D prints. By the way, to everyone who responded to my previous IG story about help with priming this past Friday, thank you all for your advice! Hopefully, I’ll be able to finish this cosplay by next spring, if the stars align. For now, however, continue to wish me luck!!! #cosplay #wip #cosplaywip #princessdaisy #mario by @hynte.d.c
