As I’m getting close to getting caught up on the various colors of classic space guys I was thinking about how I want to display them. Everyone seems to go with the “Every Spaceman is Awesome” design and I get that, but I was thinking more Space Pods. Took a go at Stud.io to see how it would look, I’m pretty happy with it. Oh yeah, if any of you know anyone that works in stud.io, tell then to get the pink space baby helmet in there. :)

Made a little lego wizard summoning spirits that I get a kick out of, thought I’d share.

I have been bothered by this figure since I opened it. Mindflayers are always depicted wearing high collared capes in the art. Maleficent’s cape is about perfect.

It’s been awhile since I brushed off the old doodle skills. Still an enjoyable activity.

Thanks to @justapeeler and @iambrick_imb I won a copy of Steam War-Construct (Set #30704) and being my first alt-brick set I’ll do a review.

The shipping box had no room for padding so the packaging got damaged, which isn’t a big deal to me, but I know it can bother some fans. On a positive note, I love the way the set stands out with a gloss finish on a mat background. It also gives the dimensions of the set which I find very helpful. It would be nice to also have the piece count. But overall a win for packaging and you feel like it has value since the box is stuffed.

The instructions were also strong, they had helpful tips that Lego could learn from and came with a map and lore to help immerse you in the setting. The warning section made me chuckle, “throw nothing away.”

The sticker sheet, while only one sticker, is an area I have to ding them on. Not only does the sticker go over 5 bricks, mine wasn’t cut. So I’ll have to do some work to trim off the edges so I can use it.

Their bag system is another weak area. I just couldn’t find the pattern. Each number had multiple bags and then you would be told to open two numbers at once so there was a lot to sort through.

Pieces are really interesting, there were a number of parts that Lego doesn’t have. A cheese slope with a stud, plates with studs on both sides, snot plates with interesting stud placement. Awesome, love it. The hands on a sprew was odd, but not an issue. The pieces also feel quality, not cheap like some other brands I’ve seen. My only concern is that the axle bars feel scratchy, so it could wear down with repeated use, but I can’t say for sure. Parts, a huge win.

I can’t speak in their mini-figs since this set didn’t have any.

The build itself felt a little repetitive at times and I would compare it more to a Bricklink Designer Program set than a retail Lego set. Sections of the build would feel very weak until they came together, so not something I would suggest for new builders. But experienced folks should enjoy it.

Highly recommend.

Constance, The Watcher:
Being born to human parents in a small village, Constance had a difficult childhood. Due to this she values faithfulness above all else. She found it in the outcast band known as the Wolfpack. But even among outcasts she has trouble being at ease, so she mans the ruins of the island watch town to keep an eye on the river and any royal threats that could sail up it.

@minifigrealms I would like to experiment with your hoods and the book strap. So she could hind her horns and carry her journal.

It took me a month to get my first 100, and only 2 weeks to get to 200. I thought that was neat. Then it took another month to reach 300, fair enough. I don’t do the things “they” say you need to do to gain followers. But now it’s been about 11 months and I finally broke 400. I have been on the edge for a while. Kept picking up and dropping what appeared to be bot accounts. But I’ve stayed above the 400 line for about a week. So I’m calling it. 🎉

It’s been an interesting year. I’ve had some very pleasant interactions and gotten a little feedback. It’s nice to have somewhere to share my nerdy stuff. I’ll check back in when I hit 500. Probably in 2027 :).

I was looking at Castle Nocturnia 71486 and thinking about the three flat sides. This let me to think, what’s better than one? Eight of course.
I wanted to see what it would look like flushed out so I made it in stud.io and find it pretty neat. I have no idea how you would display this in gravity. Stupid gravity, always ruining things.

The dark blue helmet is now on PaB so that’s good. Just have to wait for the light blue versions and the GwP with the light bluish grey gear. But it’s a happy little group.

The final two classic space guys join the crew. I thought the black one would be the hardest to get, but some of these new ones being released here and there are going to be more of a challenge it seems.
