Top-down views are fun.

Has a client ever asked me to deliver one? Nope.
Do I still make one EVERY time I finish a project, just to see what it looks like? Oh, yes.

If you’re bored of the same wide-angle corner views (IYKYK), spice it up for a day.

Look down. Move closer. Try a radical crop.

Worst case? You get a flop to talk about. Best case? You practice, you get better and you get a fun new image for your portfolio.

Client wants MORE?
“Happy to add that. It falls outside what we originally agreed, so I’ll send an updated quote for your approval before I start.”

Client wants CHANGES?
"Of course I can make that change. We've now used the revision rounds included in the project, so I'll send over the cost for an additional round before I continue."

Client wants it FASTER?
“I can prioritise it. That would involve a rush fee, so I’ll send the revised cost and timeline for your approval.”

Clients can (and will) ask. You can (and should) say what it costs.
Because “just one more view” is still another image. “Just one more change” is still another round of revisions. And “just a little earlier” is still a calendar headache.

Managing expectations from the beginning isn’t confrontational, but agreeing through gritted teeth and exploding later is.

You can be generous and still set firm boundaries.

Which one do you get the most: extra deliverables, extra revisions, or rush deadlines?

I used to be cool. Now the only thing keeping me sane is the promise of becoming a couch potato once my taxes are done.

Until then, approach with coffee and no follow-up questions ☠️

Follow @iam.virtuala for practical AI tutorials, 3D scene breakdowns, creative experiments and the messy reality of building a freelance life. by @iam.virtuala

This became one of my best-performing trial reels on @virtuala.co, so obviously I had to bring the workflow over here.

The base is always modelled in @3d.s.max and rendered with @chaos.vray, because I looove the control they give me.
Then Nano Banana, to add the person and improve the details.
And @klingai_official to animate it into a scroll-stopping clip.

Four tools for four different tasks.

Comment “RED” and I’ll send you the exact Nano Banana and Kling prompts I used for this scene.

And if you don't already, follow @iam.virtuala for more practical AI experiments, 3D scene breakdowns, colourful interiors and the occasional episode of freelance chaos ✨

Bye-bye to that moment of panic when a client picks one painfully specific decor piece for the render.

Not long ago, that meant either spending far too many hours modelling it or attempting a last-minute Photoshop plug-and-pray.

Now the entire internet can be part of my 3D prop library.

see something I like → screenshot it → use AI to turn it into a 3D model → bring it into the scene.

Want the full workflow, including the exact combination of AI tools I use?
Tell me below and I’ll make the tutorial next.

Happy creating! ✨

If you’ve ever looked at another creative’s polished feed and wondered why your own process feels so much messi… been there, STILL do that.

I’m Laura, a 3D artist with ten years in the field and the human behind @virtuala.co.

For almost four years, I’ve grown that account sharing the polished, professional side of my work, the finished version made for clients.

Now it has reached a personal milestone (10K of you over there, yay!), so it felt like the right time for a new challenge:

A new account for everything that happens BEFORE the polished version.

The experiments that work, and especially the ones that absolutely don’t.

The exhausting race to keep up with AI.
The business lessons I learned too late.
The doubt, the late nights, the tiny wins, and everything I’m still learning.

Most of the DMs I get at @virtuala.co already come from fellow artists asking about the bits and pieces that never make it into the portfolio.

So I wanted to create a place for those conversations.
If you’re a 3D artist or creative freelancer figuring out the messy middle too, welcome.
