HYROX Houston 2025: Did with her, did it for me, we are doing it again for us! HYROX Chicago, see you in November! by @iam_jemmabella

Face to Face Friday: February 2024 vs February 2025.

This Valentine's Day, I am celebrating loving myself, putting myself first, and working through some hard ass sh*t like being a single woman and business owner!

I thought being a single parent was tough, but running a 4 year old business, managing a cleaning crew of 20, a client list of 40+ companies, some with multiple locations, all while meal prepping, counting macros, training for half marathons and a HYROX race! Let's not forget sprinkling in networking and some semblance of a social life!

All over social media, you see quotes, and people say, "Choose your hard!" Well, I chose it, I stand by it, and I am not done with it quite yet! It's still early in the year! Can't wait to see what this chapter still has in store! by @iam_jemmabella

⚖️ Scale vs Photos 📸

Feeling discouraged by the number on the scale?

You’re not alone! 🌧️ But then you looked back at photos and realized how much you’ve truly grown.

Remember, it’s not just about the numbers it’s about the journey!

23 years of survivorship, and today I got to share a different side of my story. ❤️

This morning, I had the opportunity to join FOX 32 Chicago alongside Imerman Angels in recognition of November being National Family Caregivers Month.

For the first time in my 23 years of survivorship, I found myself in a place where I could talk about what it means to be a caregiver, rather than focusing on my own experience as a cancer survivor.

And that meant something to me.

When someone we love is facing cancer, it’s natural to put their needs before our own. We become their support system, their advocate, their strength. But somewhere in the process, we can lose sight of ourselves.

One of the messages I shared today was the importance of holding on to something that’s just for YOU.

Whether it’s your morning walk, a workout, coffee with a friend, or simply a little time to yourself, don’t lose the things that keep you grounded in who you are.

And don’t be afraid to ask for help. Sometimes allowing others to step in isn’t just about lightening your load. It’s about giving them an opportunity to show their love and be part of the journey, too.

You can love someone deeply, care for them wholeheartedly, and still make room to care for yourself.

I’m grateful to FOX 32 Chicago and Imerman Angels for the opportunity to have this important conversation.

To every caregiver out there: You matter in this journey, too. ❤️

So…apparently, we’re celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this weekend! 🤣🥂

Funny… neither one of us remembers the wedding. 💀😂

The parking attendant took one look at us and decided we’d been together for 20 years.

SIR! We’ve been FRIENDS for 16 years! Where did you find the extra four years AND a marriage?! 🤣

And yes, we’re staying at a hotel together… but before the rumors start, we’re here for tomorrow’s Chicago Hot Chocolate Run, NOT some romantic anniversary getaway! 🏃‍♀️☕

16 years of friendship. 20 years of imaginary marriage. One hotel stay. Zero vows exchanged.

Happy Halloween from the couple that never was! 🎃😂 by @iam_jemmabella

Meal prepping? Been doing that.

But apparently, we’ve entered a whole new level of insanity where every single gram of food needs to be weighed and accounted for.

Chicken? Weighed.
Broccoli? Weighed.
Rice? My Filipino ancestors are questioning my life choices. 🇵🇭😂

And let’s not discuss the 47 damn dishes I had to wash afterward.

Why am I voluntarily subjecting myself to this nonsense?

I’ve got a pretty ambitious goal I’m chasing over the next 47 weeks.

Stick around for the workouts, progress, occasional bitching, questionable decisions, and whatever other shenanigans I get myself into.

I can’t promise it’ll be pretty, but it’ll definitely be entertaining.

47 weeks. Let the madness begin. by @iam_jemmabella

Today, at 5:31pm, my sweet Leyland crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 💔🐾

My heart is absolutely shattered. No matter how much you try to prepare yourself for this moment, nothing prepares you for having to say goodbye.

From the tiny puppy who stole my heart to the beautiful girl who filled my life with so much love, laughter, and unforgettable memories, you were so much more than just a dog. You were my baby girl, my sidekick, my comfort, and a piece of my heart.

The only peace I can find tonight is knowing that you’re no longer in pain and that somewhere over that Rainbow Bridge, Rizzo was waiting for you.

Two beautiful souls, reunited once again. 🌈

Run free, my sweet Leyland. Give Rizzo a kiss for me.

Thank you for loving me as much as I loved you these last almost 12 years. Until we’re all together again. ❤️🐾 by @iam_jemmabella

23 years ago, cancer changed my life in ways I never could have imagined.

Before my diagnosis, I was simply existing. I hadn’t yet discovered what it meant to truly live with purpose.

Cancer changed that. It challenged me, shaped me, and ultimately helped me discover a purpose much bigger than myself.

For the past 17 years, Imerman Angels has been a meaningful part of that journey. From serving as a Mentor Angel and staff member to advising on multiple meaningful projects and continuing to volunteer, I’ve had the privilege of turning my own experience into an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.

Spending Chicago Marathon Weekend surrounded by this incredible community was another reminder of why this organization will always hold such a special place in my heart.

What started as one of the hardest chapters of my life became one of the greatest sources of purpose in it.

Imerman Angels provides FREE, one-on-one support to cancer fighters, survivors, thrivers, previvors, and cancer caregivers, because no one should have to face cancer alone.

If you or someone you know could use that connection and support, visit www.imermanangels.org.

23 years later, I’m still learning, growing, giving back, and finding new ways to make a difference.

Cancer may have changed the direction of my life, but I’ve made it my mission to give that journey meaning. 💙🤍 by @iam_jemmabella

I don’t usually play bingo, but when I do it’s for charity!!

My business OnyxWorks Building Services has partnered again with Referral Partners 365 for Bingo for Charity benefitting Senior Care Volunteer Network next Friday, October 16th! Doors open at 5:30pm. Games start at 6pm! by @iam_jemmabella

It’s another rainy day in Chicago, but nobody’s raining on my parade today!

I just got told I look like I’m in my 20s!

I’ll be accepting no further questions at this time. 💁🏻‍♀️😂 by @iam_jemmabella

One thing about me:

I’m always going to show up and support good people doing good work. ❤️

Tonight I got to support a fellow Referral Partners 365 member Tricia Saviano at the Open House for Pioneer Center for Human Services, alongside another one of our RP365 members Kevin M. Goers

And this is worth sharing: Pioneer Center has bilingual therapists, accepts Medicaid, AND currently has no wait for therapy services!

This is why I love being part of a referral community. It’s not just about sending each other business; it’s about knowing good people, connecting resources, and showing up for each other.

That’s community. ❤️ by @iam_jemmabella

I’m basically just doing what the strong girls are doing… and somewhere along the way, I’m becoming one of them. 💪🔥
