📚 Do your homework please! 📖

Whether or not you’ve hired a coach, it’s imperative to do your research to get to ANY goal.

Your research lays the foundation to build upon while you gather your toolkit of resources and wisdom.

You can break your goal down into 2 parts: The goal and the resources.

Example:
𝖳𝗁𝖾 𝗀𝗈𝖺𝗅 𝗆𝖺𝗒 𝖻𝖾 𝗍𝗈 𝗍𝖺𝗄𝖾 𝖺 𝗍𝗋𝗂𝗉 𝗍𝗈 𝖦𝗋𝖾𝖾𝖼𝖾：

𝖸𝗈𝗎𝗋 resources needed may be:
Passport
Flight
Lodging

Goal Setting: Don't Microwave Your Dreams!
🎯 Vision boards don’t work if you’re not working on yourself.
This week on #Soulibration on @BlackDoctororg, Coach Erika “Nikki” Shorty aka @imherlifecoach broke it all the way down: You have to be spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and financially ready to handle what you’re asking for.
💬 “You don’t want a just about goal. You don’t want a just about type because it’s not appetizing. It looks great on the outside—it ain’t done on the inside.”
Don't rush the process. Become the version of you that can sustain the blessing. You can still catch the replay on BlackDoctor.org 's Facebook or YouTube channel + #ChecktheRhymesTV

11 years later and you still make me feel like our first date……Happy 11th Anniversary to us 🥂 ✨ #love #goodvibes #blackmarriage by @iamherlifecoach

The things we have to do to stay sane and function as an adult is wild. Go to work, keep calm, work out, eat right, be professional, go to therapy, go to the doctor, pay bills, use your PTO but work hard…..
Bruhhhhhh….. enough already!

I will however, clap it up for myself though! I killed it this week with pushing myself. Me vs. Me

Cheers to September 🥂

I have no clue what September has in store or the beauty that awaits but I’m going to cheers to it anyway. I had an amazing summer and excited about what God is doing in this season.

Hey September, be good to me 🍂

Birthdays mean a lot to me. Kind of like New Year’s Eve, there’s a little magic with it. It’s reflective, and takes a new shape every year that I grow older.

What started as just going with the flow with a birthday sandwiched in between 2 work trips, ended up being one of the most beautiful nudges that birthdays don’t have to be this multi day extravaganza, but sometimes you can find beauty in all the beautiful day to day things if you’re present.

I was present. I caught up with my people, did things I wanted to do, ate good, clinked glasses 🥂 more times than I can count, had some beautiful birthday surprises and really just enjoyed my tribe. The celebration is always the people for me. The laughs, the tears, the inside jokes…… Thank you to everyone that made my birthday special. I’m so blessed.🥹

P.S.
This music gets me emotional every time 😩

It’s crazy to think over half of the year is gone already. I haven’t seen my friends since October of last year and because life be life’n and schedules gon schedule, when my bestie who lives in NY said she was coming to visit family in South Carolina, I jumped at the opportunity. What she didn’t know was that our other bestie was plotting to surprise her so we can steal some time together. 🥹

Learning about my best friend’s family and her lineage is something I don’t take lightly. Sharing with me where her grandparents and great grandparents grew up, history about how their family came to journey to New York mannnnnn what a blessing.

We only spent a few hours together but I think we all needed that time. A BBQ fest, a toast and some laughs was just what the doctor ordered.

ROLL THAT BEAUTIFUL BEAN FOOTAGE 🤣 #love #family #friendship #promisedland by @iamherlifecoach

Idk about anyone else but The Shortys are a cruise family! And by cruise I mean @royalcaribbean 🙌🏽🥳

This is our 2nd time on Royal Caribbean but our first time on this ship, Utopia of the Seas! It’s 2 years old accommodating roughly 7,000 cruisers and has so much to do! We didn’t even get to explore EVERYTHING in that one week! Golf, escape rooms, ice shows, Aqua shows, game shows, train rides! (Yes a train ride on a cruise ship) Just massive!

Embarkation day is always my favorite day 🤣

Have y’all sailed on Utopia yet? Tell me your favorite part in the comments! ⬇️

O 👏🏽 kayyyyyy 👏🏽!!!!
The mere fact that phase 1 of these room projects are completely done 🥹 I’m so proud!

Madison loves a beach 🏝️and summertime 🌞 so we decided to bring the beach to her room. 💁🏽‍♀️

I needed a wallpaper that wasn’t too busy paired with her favorite color blue. @behrpaint did their big one with this “Charismatic Sky” color!

My girl is a Lilo & Stitch fanatic, so we’re gonna give him a feature in this room so she can be surrounded by all of her favorite things!

The next phase is artwork and lighting for both rooms as well as organization for both functionality and aesthetic!

What pieces should I get to really make this room pop?! by @iamherlifecoach

Oh cause I thought a contractor trying to charge me 3750 said something…. 🤚🏽 I got it.

One thing I’m confident about is the way I mom 💪🏽

Our girls wanted redecorated bedrooms this summer and with such amazing grades ending the school year, baby they’re gonna get it!

🪴 Kai wanted an Afrohemian space, filled with black art and an overall moody bedroom space. I can wait to show you the pieces we’re gonna get to truly transform the space!
