Today the boys got to see the Tongan boys at their open training session, then stayed for pics and autographs. Safe to say they were pretty stoked 🥹🇹🇴

They love their footy, so getting to meet these guys was already a big deal. But as their mum, watching them connect with their Tongan side made it even more special.

Our boys have a mix of cultures 🇹🇴🇼🇸🇬🇷🇦🇺 that make them who they are, and I want them to know and feel proud of all of them.

Today was a little piece of that.

Wearing their colours, and knowing they’re part of it too. ❤️🇹🇴

One thing I’ve learnt as a mum is that no one is ever going to advocate for your kids quite like you will.

That doesn’t mean we always know what questions to ask, or where to start, especially when it comes to our kids’ learning and development.

I came across this Parent Support Planner from @learningdevelopment_au and I actually love the idea of having somewhere to get everything out of your head and into one place - the mum ‘brain dump’!

The concerns, observations, and all the questions you don’t want to forget, plus somewhere to keep track of everything after an appointment too.

I don’t think you don’t need to have all the answers to be your child’s biggest advocate, sometimes it’s about just feeling a little more prepared to ask the questions.

The Parent Support Planner is available through the Learning & Development Directory.

Sharing because I know there are other overwhelmed parents out there that could use a tool like this too 💛

Today I hit a milestone I’ve been waiting 9 months for.

The day I gave birth to Kalani I weighed 128kg. Today I finally saw double digits on the scales again. Almost 30kg down.

And you know what? I’m bloody proud of myself.

But the number on the scales? In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t mean shit.

Because this body has grown THREE whole humans. And not little ones either 😂

It’s carried them, birthed them, nourished them and continues to show up for them every single day.

This body - she is the real flex in all her forms!

I’ve been through this postpartum journey twice before. I know it takes time, I know it takes discipline and I know I’ve got it in me to do it again - def not coming from any type of jab for me IYKYK!

I’m not in a rush. I’m not looking to skip the process. I’m putting in the work while soaking up every second of this chapter because I know just how quickly it disappears.

I can celebrate losing almost 30kg AND be in absolute awe of the body that carried it.

Both can be true.

And if motherhood has taught me anything, it’s that this body is capable of some pretty badass things.

If you’d told me 10 years ago that I’d leave the corporate world and my career in media and advertising behind, start working for myself and be homeschooling my future kids, I probably would’ve laughed in your face. 😂

Homeschool? Me? Joking right? Give up my successful career? The fancy client lunches and events? Spend all day, every day with my kids?

Not a chance.

But then I became a Mama 🤍 And having my boys changed me to my core.

The very fabric of who I was completely unravelled and was woven back together into someone I never could’ve imagined becoming.

My priorities shifted and my definition of success changed. The things I once thought were so important I no longer cared for or had any desire for.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved my career. I worked hard for it and I’m proud of everything I achieved and it’s what taught me the skills I needed to go out on my own.

But somewhere along the way, I realised I didn’t want to spend my life working towards having more time with my family. I wanted that time NOW.

The more I watched my boys grow, the more I questioned why learning had to look a certain way. Why it had to happen between certain hours, inside four walls, following someone else’s timetable.

Because really the world really is one big classroom.

There’s learning in travelling to new places, experiencing different cultures, exploring nature, meeting people, asking questions, trying new things and simply being part of everyday life.

Some of the most valuable lessons my boys will ever learn haven’t and won’t come from a textbook.

They’ll come from living it.

The slow mornings. The random Tuesday adventures. The spontaneous trips. The freedom to follow their curiosity and see where it takes us. All of it.

Our days aren’t always magical. Some days are chaotic, exhausting and I wonder what on earth I’ve signed myself up for but nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is more important to me than this time.

And if the world is their classroom, I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be than right there learning and living alongside them. 🤍

Surely I’m not the only one who books a holiday and then decides the entire family needs a new wardrobe?

Anyone else? Just me?

Now multiply that by 6 people 😅😅😅

Our spare room has turned into a packing room!

He has no idea what we’re singing about just yet, or maybe he doesn’t- but hearing his little voice trying to sing along with mine is something. I’ve played this song every day since he was in my belly. Now everytime it comes on he is starting to sing along too 🥹

My prayer is that as he grows, these songs become more than just familiar melodies. That he comes to know the God we’re singing to, builds his own relationship with Jesus and never feels afraid to worship Him out loud.

For now, I’ll keep singing. And he’ll keep finding his voice. 🤍

At this point, I don’t even know if we’re playing The Happy Song for the baby or for Dad 😂

Please tell me we’re not the only family keeping Imogen Heap in business!

One thing that’s definitely making it into the carry-on for 3 weeks overseas…

The boys have been loving @koakidsau Tummy Time and it’s become such an easy part of our morning routine.

Why I love it:

- Individual sachets
- No refrigeration needed
- Easy to take on the go
- Named after my son… Jokes, but it does have the same name! Koa 😍
- Actually the most diverse probiotic in Aus for kids with 20 strains 👌🏼

Travelling with four kids is chaotic enough, anything that helps us keep a little bit of our normal routine while we’re away is a win.

Check out Tummy Time in the link in my bio 🤍

Always read the label and follow the directions for use.

I never want to get so caught up in the busy that I forget this is the life I once prayed for.

The noise, the chaos, the never ending washing, the weekends spent running between kids and all the ordinary little moments in between.

Getting to raise these boys with him. Watching them grow up with a dad who loves being their dad. Getting a front row seat to all of it.

These are the days.

And I never want to take a single one of them for granted. 🤍 by @iamlanarenee
