As many of you know, we were blessed to get engaged in Hawaii! After I proposed and she said yes to being my wife, we prayed asking God to guide us in this new chapter. He began placing the question on our hearts, “What are we waiting for?”

So, on August 5th, we ELOPED! At Moku‘aikaua Church, the oldest Christian church in Hawaii, with just the pastor, ourselves, and the Lord, we were married! It was an intimate and spiritual experience that we’ll treasure forever.

God is so very good because, at first, nothing about our plan seemed to be working out—turns out, getting married in Hawaii is WAY harder than we imagined! But through it all, our faith and perseverance led us to this perfect moment.

We know getting married at 20 and 21 is a bit countercultural, but God calls us to be counter cultural. He asks us to simply obey, and who wants to be cultured anyway?

To all the people who have loved and supported us, we’re so grateful for you. Your love means the world to us, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you in the future. We’re planning a reception-like event down the line, but for now, we’re just enjoying being husband and wife. We have no regrets—only excitement for the journey and hope for the future.

Your continued love and support mean everything to us as we start this journey together. Stay tuned—there’s more to come, but for now, we’re soaking in every moment of married life.

Love,
The Surigao’s 💌

2 years of Heavenly matrimony with my beautiful bride!! I love you ardently. I am so grateful to have loved you as a woman, then as a wife, and now as a makuahine. You are a proverbs 31 woman to the fullest extent. An A1 momma and my best friend. We have done things God’s way, unorthodox to the world and I have ZERO regrets. I choose you and am so grateful to break generational curses each and every day together. Happy anniversary

My beautiful wife. Happy birthday. While I’m late posting this (her birthday is the 8th) because I am blessed enough to have spent my entire day yesterday celebrating you, I just wanted to say thank you!

You are my very best friend, my confidante, and the woman I aim everyday to spend the rest of my life with. You bring Joy into every room you enter, and have perhaps the most infectious smile I’ve ever seen. Thank you for loving me, for putting up with me, for loving Jesus and for being such an amazing momma to our little boy. How blessed am I to have a wonderful wife who is also a great mother.

Thank you for having such an impact on my life and for completely redefining my prior perceptions on what it means to be wealthy, or successful, and just overall blowing away my expectations on what life had to offer. I love you. Happy 22nd by @iammakoa
