@dreameventsbysonya literally shut down Michigan Ave in the middle of Lollapalooza for a baraat. What made this one special was the bride and groom doing the entire baraat together 👰🏽‍♀️🤵🏾.

I love being part of defining moments that go outside of the norms in the South Asian society 💪🏽.

“Ayoo Smiley, they throwing 💵 atchu dawg” 😂

As I’m starting to comb through footage from my from my first OFFICIAL show (still can’t believe it actually happened), I couldn’t help share one of many raw moments that truly captured what this night truly meant for me.

Collectively over the past 1.5 years we all have been forced to be protective over how our energy is depleted because it wasn’t being replenished in the same ways. We all suffered in some way, shape and form.

To see people willing spend their time and energy to safely enjoy an evening amongst friends, of whom they probably haven’t seen this year was a sight to behold and is a memory I will forever take with me.

An ode to the unsung heroes 🎬 #HaveYouSmiledToday

We see the finished product. We experience the magic on stage. But we rarely see the physical, mental, and spiritual preparation it takes to bring a large-scale event to life.

Behind every experience are people working tirelessly, day and night, to create something special for everyone else to enjoy. This one’s for them. 🫶🏽

💛 @lovejotkaur — The glue and showrunner who kept everyone on time and went above and beyond to make sure we got our soundcheck and time on stage
🤝 @bm.avls — My go-to and rock. You made my sets seamless and handled every fire that came up in the moment.
✨ @_preetchahal_ — Thank you for creating opportunities at the eleventh hour that took this experience to another level.
🧠 @marock.ash — You took your brainchild and turned it into a safe, family-friendly experience that everyone could enjoy. That takes something special.
📸 @jyothitatter — For capturing the chaos and telling the stories nobody even knew existed.
🔊 @eliteproca — For tackling the beast that is live sound in an open venue is no small feat.
👕 @upper.empire — For the fire merch and, more importantly, for being so kind to everyone who came your way.

🎥 Video credits:
🎤 @soundofpayal — The voice backstage, bringing the laughs and keeping energy chardi kala through the chaos
❤️ @jotykay — The one person who is never afraid to be unapologetically themselves and uplifts others in the process

Day 15 of 100. Here’s to the people behind the scenes, the ones who show up when nobody’s watching, solve problems before anyone notices, and pour so much of themselves into making other people’s experiences unforgettable.

The spotlight might shine on the stage, but the magic takes a village. 🙏🏽

This was all mom’s idea 😅🪂 #HaveYouSmiledToday

And somehow, the whole family ended up jumping out of a plane. I am scared of heights, but the challenge is something that I always embrace.

Seeing dad face it head on with a roaring Jakara and Chardi Kala spirit was inspiring to say the least.

Life moves fast. Sometimes you have to take the leap, embrace the fear, and make memories with the people who matter most.

Day 13 of 100 - Here’s to facing fears head on and challenging yourself to get out of your comfort zone.

PSA: Normalize telling your dad you love him #HaveYouSmiledToday

Growing up, a lot of us were taught that being a man meant being strong. And somewhere along the way, for many South Asian men, we learned that being strong meant keeping our emotions to ourselves.

Even in households where emotions and mental health are openly discussed, breaking generational habits around vulnerability can still be difficult. We can love our parents deeply and still struggle to put that love into words.

It doesn’t have to be some grand gesture. Sometimes, it starts with three simple words: “I love you, Dad.”

So if you have the opportunity, make that call. Give him that hug. Say the words. You never know how, you might be the reason he smiles today ☺️

And if nobody has told you today, I LOVE YOU. ❤️

Day 11 of 100. One day, one conversation, one smile at a time.

BTS ➡️ THE FINAL CUT 🎬🔥 #HaveYouSmiledToday

Ever wonder what goes into the moments you see on screen? 👀

From playing drums in a 1989 high school homecoming to breaking up a fight that turns into a whole dance sequence 😂🥁. Here’s a little BTS look at @variiofficial “5 Min”. Big ups to the queen @anamikadubb for taking care of me and to @desimix for the drums.

The cameras capture the final moment, but there’s a whole lot that happens before we get there. The unexpected moments, the laughs, and the chaos are all part of the magic. 🎥🕺🏾

Day 10 of 100. Celebrating the process just as much as the final product. 💛

@behindthesmilesbts — bringing you along for the moments you don’t always get to see.

Some moments bring you back to what matters most 💛 #HaveYouSmiledToday

Different generations. Different stages of life. Different journeys. Yet, for these moments, we’re all connected by something bigger than ourselves.

Day 8 of 100. A reminder to slow down, hold your people close, and never get so caught up building your future that you forget to cherish those who are part of your present

There’s beauty in finding your people 🤲🏾 #HaveYouSmiledToday

One of the most beautiful surprises at @calidamela was reconnecting with so many souls from different chapters of my life. Some I met through music, others through social media, and some through the beautiful randomness of life. 🥹🫶🏾

Different journeys, familiar energy, and so much love. For a moment, it felt like home. A reminder that no matter where life takes us, some connections always find their way back. ✨

Day 7 of 100. My body may be exhausted, but my soul is RECHARGED 💛 Grateful for the people, the reconnections, and the love that makes this journey so beautiful.

Every journey begins with a single step. 🌱✨ #HaveYouSmiledToday

So immensely proud of @shudhita.singh for smashing it in her debut at @calidamela . It’s a beautiful reminder that every artist, every dream, and every journey has a beginning.

We spend so much time looking at how far we want to go that we forget to appreciate the courage it takes to start.

Day 6 of 100 A reminder that you don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to take that first step and trust where it might lead you.

@behindthesmilesbts — documenting the beginnings, the breakthroughs, and everything in between. We’re just getting started. 🎥🎶
