I spoke at @unesco Headquarters in Paris, France!!!🎉🎉 What an incredible experience!!

As a @gpforeducation Youth Leader, I had the privilege of participating in the Transforming Education Summit +4 (TES+4) at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, joining ministers, leaders, development partners, youth representatives and education advocates from around the world to discuss the future of education.

I had the opportunity of speaking in two panel sessions.

The first panel was Powering SDG 4: The Education Solutions Marketplace. This session was opened by H.E. @aminajmohammed Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and other panelists were Ministers of Education from Georgia, Montenegro, San Marino and Kuwait. During my presentation, I highlighted the inspiring innovations that young people are leading across the world to transform education systems and accelerate progress towards SDG 4. The panel was expertly moderated by Koye Adeboye (Head of Spotlight Initiative).

The second panel was the TES+4 Thematic Session on Inclusion and Gender Equality: Advancing Inclusion and Gender Equality through Education System Transformation. In this session, I shared how young people and youth-led networks are advancing the commitments of the Transforming Education Summit Youth Declaration, the progress we have made, the challenges that remain, and why meaningful youth leadership must move beyond participation to co-leadership. Other panellists, included ministers from Mauritania, Uruguay, Thailand and Madagascar, alongside representatives from UNESCO and GPE. Thank you to Dr Richard Ingram for chairing such an insightful discussion.

A huge thank you to @gpforeducation for this opportunity and the incredible GPE team for all their support.

I was selected by @the_europaeum a network of leading European universities to participate in the Europaeum special debate at the 2025 Estoril Political Forum in Portugal.

The topic of our debate was: Will AI Destroy Democracy? I debated against the topic alongside my wonderful team members (@oli.firth.1 and @teresaduartefernandes ). Swipe to see some videos of my debate session. My debate points highlighted the fact that AI will help amplify the democratic voices that have long been silenced in regions such as Africa. One may argue that AI can be used for democratic manipulation, but many democratic systems already have political manipulation, corruption and electoral fraud existing independently of AI. So the problem is really not AI, but its governance and accountability.

I totally enjoyed doing the debate (I did a lot of debate in primary and secondary school 😊) and brainstorming with my colleagues.

Many thanks to @the_europaeum network for this amazing opportunity and a special thanks to Dr Miles Pattenden who did an excellent job in coordinating and getting us ready for the debate.

I would like to hear from you, what do you think about AI and democracy? Will AI destroy democracy or not?

Empowering Communities, fighting AMR! 💪

Grateful for the incredible turnout at our public engagement event in Enugu, where we shared co-produced messages and raised awareness on antimicrobial resistance and responsible antibiotic use.

Together, we can work to protect our health and future generations!

I sincerely thank our collaborators, sponsors, PhD supervisors, supporters, family and friends that ensured the success of this event 🙏

Yesterday, I had the opportunity of speaking with the new MSc Global Sustainable Development students at the University of St Andrews during their day trip to the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther.

My presentation, “Mastering the Master’s 😊: Thriving During Your MSc Programme,” gave me an opportunity to reflect on my own experience and share practical tips on making the most of the journey.

It was lovely to meet the new cohort at the beginning of their St Andrews journey, and I hope some of the lessons from my own experience will be useful as they navigate the year ahead.

Many thanks to the Programme Director and Deputy Director, Tania Mendo and Kathryn Fredricks, for the invitation and the opportunity to contribute to the session.

If you are interested in understanding some of the complex sustainability challenges facing our world and exploring how you can contribute to more sustainable and equitable futures, the MSc Global Sustainable Development at the University of St Andrews is worth exploring. Applications are now open for the September 2027 intake.

The third peer-reviewed article from my PhD research has now been published! 🎉

This study explores how communities in Nigeria use antibiotics, understand antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and what this means for designing more effective community-centred health communication.

You can use the following link to read the article: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0353762
