Catholics in the house, can you say the Rosary in Igbo? 😀

Our language is part of our identity, and learning to pray in Igbo language is another beautiful way to stay connected to our roots 🥰❤️

Let's learn something new today!

Welldone Mama😎😎

At 2years old,I was still learning one syllable words not to talk of knowing the igbo word for these food items😅😅

Teaching them early enough still remains the best way!

Honestly, I think there are several reasons and it isn't simply that young people don't value Igbo.

Some weren't given enough opportunities to use it.

Some were mocked when they tried to speak it.

Sometimes, even parents don't speak Igbo consistently with their children.

English also feels more useful to many young people because of school, work, social media and everyday life.

And there's one thing I think we sometimes miss:
You can't make people love a language by constantly telling them that the language is dying.

So maybe the question isn't only "How do we save Igbo?"

I think it should be ..."How do we make Igbo something young people want to be part of?"❤️ by @igbo_language_tutor

Catch them young❤️
