Jam on it is back on friday the 16th of October! This time in collaboration with the wonderful @raumutrecht.

This time around, we will kick things off with a lecture by our musical professor @igo.djing ! After that, be sure to get down to his selection and do some boogie down dancing! 😍

19:00 - 20:00 LECTURE 'Modern Day Clubs'

🎛️ One hour. One decade. The technology behind the birth of modern club culture.

How was disco born? How did beatmatching become an art? And how did the modern club as we know it come to life?

Social, musical, and technological advancements came together to create one of the most defining decades in modern music history: the 1970s.

In this one-hour journey, we’ll focus on the technological innovations that helped make this revolution possible — from slipmats and 12-inch records to the humble beginnings of DJ culture, from the old Rosie to the legendary Technics SL-1200.

A story of music, machines, and the people who pushed both forward 💿⏭️

✨ CLASSIC TRACK ALERT ✨

"The Body Theme" by Next Evidence (2001, Ibadan Records). If you’ve ever stayed on a dancefloor until the sun comes up, you’ve felt the magic of this record. Produced by Maxime Cohen and Michael Tordjman, the Main Mix is a 10-minute journey of pure euphoria. The gorgeous acoustic guitar from Nelson Veras combines with Adrien Chicot’s Rhodes piano, making it a spot-on morning anthem.

A timeless weapon for the right time window. Who remembers hearing this one out? by @igo.djing

Hondekop recordings continue 🧡🚂

Next up: iGO.

This summer, on the 4th of july, Jam On It teams up with @bankrabike Soundsystem for a special edition: a moving streetjam through Utrecht!

Some of the beautiful dance styles we practice today were born in the streets. People would gather on sidewalks, in parks, and on street corners to share music, dance, and community. This is our way for bringing it back to those roots, all while inspiring others to join in the fun!

We'll travel through Utrecht, dancing from park to park and bringing the vibe to the streets! 💃🏻

>>> Swipe for more info >>>

Schedule:

▶️ Majella park (13:00, BE ON TIME!)
⏸️ Noorder park
⏹️ Griftpark

During the streetjam we'll dance and connect to the sounds of iGO (@igo.djing) and Sidequest Angie @sidequest.angie)

We'll finish the day with a longer session and a cozy potluck at Griftpark, so feel free to bring some food and drinks to share! 💫🌮🍉🥙

Are you ready to dance your heart out in the streets? To inspire others through movement and show that dance is a powerful form of self-expression that everyone should feel free to embrace?!

Tell a friend to bring a friend! And, sharing is caring! Because of course: the more, the merrier! 🚲🔊🕺🏽 by @igo.djing
