The Mirabad District Court of Tashkent held Solikhjon Ibragimov administratively liable for an Instagram publication containing the promotion of violence. The reason for the proceedings was a training video accompanied by the caption:
“I train so that my future wife will receive only precise strikes” (It is translated to English). After the publication, Irina Matvienko (@irina.uz) the head of the Nemolchi.uz project, appealed to law enforcement authorities. In court, the young man admitted his guilt and asked for leniency.
The court found him guilty under the article on distributing materials that promote the cult of violence and imposed a fine of 60 Basic Calculation Units (BCU) — 24.72 million Uzbek soums. The court also ordered that his iPhone 15 Pro Max be confiscated in favor of the state. by @ildyz.global

An elderly pensioner from Chirchiq, Uzbekistan, who had been regularly feeding stray cats for years, has died just days after volunteers began helping her appeal a fine imposed for her compassion.

The woman was fined after neighbors complained about stray cats, citing unpleasant odors and unsanitary conditions. According to local animal welfare volunteers, she had also been subjected to ongoing pressure and harassment from some of her neighbors, who reportedly photographed her, monitored her activities, and filed repeated complaints because she continued feeding homeless cats.

Volunteers say the fine deeply affected her. Having lived an honest life without previous legal issues, she struggled to understand why an act of kindness had made her an offender. They helped prepare legal documents to challenge the penalty and planned to submit the appeal.

However, before the appeal could be finalized, volunteers arrived at her home to collect her signature. No one answered the door. Emergency responders later entered the apartment and found the woman deceased. Authorities have not announced the official cause of her death, and there is no evidence that the fine directly caused it.

Her story has sparked widespread discussion about the treatment of those who care for stray animals, the responsibilities of local authorities, and the need to find humane solutions that balance public health concerns with compassion for vulnerable animals. by @ildyz.global

Happy International Children’s Day!

Schools and kindergartens are supposed to be safe havens, but several incidents revealed hidden misconduct by educators. For instance, during the needle abuse case in April 2023 in the Yunusobod district of Tashkent, parents noticed mysterious puncture marks on their toddlers' bodies. A police investigation revealed that teachers at a private kindergarten were systematically pricking children with medical needles during naptime to terrify them into staying quiet. The facility’s license was permanently revoked, and the educators faced criminal prosecution. Similarly, during the gymnastic stick incident on March 4, 2025, in the Parkent district of the Tashkent region, video evidence emerged showing a preschool physical education instructor systematically beating young children with a plastic gymnastics stick just to force them to stand in a straight line. Following media coverage, both the instructor and another complicit teacher were immediately fired and investigated.
Child safety also extends to health and administrative responsibility, a. In September 2025, a tri-district poisoning emergency unfolded when dozens of children across three districts in the Tashkent region—Piskent, Buka, and Quyi Chirchiq—were rushed to emergency rooms with acute food poisoning. Investigators traced the illness back to toxic kefir supplied by a single processing workshop. The supplier was shut down, and administrative staff faced criminal charges for violating sanitary legislation. Between 2022 and 2023, the Khorezm orphanage scandal came to light at Family Orphanage No. 1 in Urgench. The head of the state-run orphanage was found guilty of running a trafficking ring, forcing minor female wards into sexual slavery. The primary clients were local justice and emergency department officials. by @ildyz.global

As Central Asian, we always feel someting very important. Uyat. What is actually this thing? Shame? Disgrace? No, it is more deeper than emberrasment. It is a social mechanism that regulates behavior, protects traditions, and pressures people to follow community expectations. Two years ago, I wrote thread about “Uyat” but many people were not agree. The reason is that they think Uyat actually keep our societies safe. Is that actually right?
