We received some fantastic photos from Karl @illflavarecords this week of his custom made CSD202 studio desk, Karl had the rear shelf mounted slightly lower than standard so that the monitor screen was at exactly the required height. Yes track 1 is by me @karlhinds half of you clean forgot I even made this, the other half didn’t know how to cop it. We @illflavarecords being vinyl purists always tried to put gems on the flip sides that weren’t available anywhere else. @jaydouble92 taught me to make the B side hotter the the A. The 12’ Vinyl is currently SOLD OUT but you can download the digital single just click on the shopping bag 🛍 Icon

The original flavour track was the first track I copped that had #Jayz on it. I knew who he was coz as a collective a DJ in our sound had the Jazz O joint

We can NOT believe we released this single 21 years ago. This was both the label’s and @karlhinds sophomore single. Much forgotten classic but at the time we were on a crusade to get Hip Hop in the U.K. to embrace its individuality (hence the south bank show sample, ol headz know). Guess u can say we achieved that.

Today we learned of the passing of @lukebiggins. Luke directed and filmed 3 of our videos,

Swear Down - by @karlhinds (Single & Video never released).

Luke was a pivotal part of our label’s early success, and while the rest of the U.K. music industry were turning their noses up at us, Luke saw things differently, he went on a massive crusade to shoot everybody’s music video. Luke was single handedly responsible for giving our culture visibility. Almost every video on Channel U was shot by Luke at one point. He understood our potential and was a pioneer of the U.K. underground Music Video game. Our condolences to his family for their loss.

Luke, you gave us a platform, voice and visibility when no-one else would, our culture might not be where it is now if it wasn’t for you
