Welcome to our new board members, Kuala Chambers and Malcolm Reed. These two are rooted in our mission! by @imaginationleads

Let’s call this tour “Community.”
On Fall Break a few weeks ago, Imagination Leads took a trip to North Louisiana. We toured Grambling State University and Southern University at Shreveport!
Grambling provided a view into their institutional growth- new buildings and strong programs. We met some I Leads alumni and some students from Baton Rouge. Dean Adrienne Webber personally welcomed us and gave them inspiration.
Southern University at Shreveport slowed us down and gave perspective to opportunities like two year degrees in dental hygiene and even engineering. The North Louisiana “COMMUNITY” showed up. Our speakers included Judge Brittany Bass Arvie, Attorney Audrius Reed, and Judge Marcus Hunter. We discussed in our hour workshop: college budgets, self determination (Kujichagulia), creating our own economics, and community support.
SU Shreveport Alumni Chapter gave snack bags and gift cards to each student . Thanks to our sponsors for making sure this trip was no costs and students left with a bag of goodies .
Special shout out to black owned businesses Tiffany’s Creations (Tiffany Range) who provided breakfast boxes for our early morning travel and Gaden’s Transportation.

Continuing to connect young people to Black History, Imagination Leads partnered with Top Teens of America Nonpareil Chapter for their cultural activity.
The teens, Top Ladies, and parents visited the Baton Rouge African American Museum which is founded by the late Sadie Roberts Joseph.
Her legacy has blossomed into a beautiful museum curated by her children, Jason and Angela.
This is first of many projects with the museum. Stay tuned and go visit . by @imaginationleads

Baton Rouge local high school students kicked off the 2026 HBCU Tour Experience , last Friday, with a visit to Talladega College, Alabama’s oldest private Black liberal arts college. From campus tours to conversations about admissions and student life, our scholars got a firsthand look at what it means to walk in the footsteps of HBCU legacy. Talladega planted the seed.
We learned also that Rev. King and Andrew Young met on this campus. We ate in the cafeteria and toured the on campus Museum .
