The end of an era. Congratulations to the Reverend Canon Stephanie Spellers on her new call as Priest in Charge at St. Gregory of Nyssa in San Francisco! Canon Spellers has left an indelible mark on St. Bart's, and her experience starting The Crossing in Boston has been a source of invaluable wisdom and inspiration to Imagine Worship. We will miss you, and can't wait to visit you in California. Love always! 🙌🏽❤️✨

Celebrating the Ministry of Canon Stephanie

Join us as we celebrate and give thanks for the ministry of the Reverend Canon Stephanie Spellers, our Canon in Residence, as she prepares to become Priest-in-Charge of St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco.

This Sunday, July 12, Canon Stephanie will preach her final sermon as a member of the St. Bart’s clergy team at our 9 am and 11 am services. On Thursday, July 16 at 7 pm, she says farewell to Imagine Worship.

On Sunday, July 19, Canon Stephanie will preside at her final services at 9 am and 11 am and, at The Forum, reflect on and celebrate her tenure at St. Bart’s. A festive coffee hour will follow the 11 am Choral Eucharist.

We hope you'll join us as we celebrate Canon Stephanie and give thanks for her extraordinary ministry among us. by @imagineworship

As part of our Voices of Pride in June series, community member Carlos Santiago offered the reflection last Thursday, offering a word of hope about how Jesus meets us in the hailstorms of life.

This Thursday at 7 pm, Imagine Worship at St. Bart’s will celebrate Pride and Juneteenth with guest preacher, the Rev. Dr. Brandon Thomas Crowley.

Dr. Crowley is Senior Pastor of Myrtle Baptist Church in Newton, MA, one of the nation's most prominent LGBTQ+ affirming historically Black churches. Director of Theological Studies at Episcopal Divinity School, Crowley is also also a Lecturer at Harvard Divinity School and author of Queering Black Churches: Dismantling Heteronormativity in African American Congregations.

A pastor, preacher, scholar, and theologian working at the intersections of Black church life, queer theory, justice, and liberation, Dr. Crowley offers a powerful voice for a time such as this.

Join us for worship with Holy Communion, followed by a community meal. Copies of Dr. Crowley's book will be available in the St. Bart's Store. Music led by @aaronweslymusic
