“Two Became One!” ♥️💍

It all started as friends - just two people seeking after God’s heart. From two completely different upbringings, one born in Pennsylvania and the other born in Ukraine 🇺🇸🇺🇦Who could have ever guessed or imagined that God had designed us for each other, countries apart??

Yet, He knew, before He even formed us in our mothers’ wombs. It’s so amazing to imagine Him saying “Douglas and Iryna will have a love for each other that will build the Kingdom and bring Heaven here on earth”. And that’s exactly what we are here to do.

A man of God and a woman of God; image bearers of God. Together, we are able to live the abundant life that He came to give us. We have experienced what true freedom feels like in so many ways through this love! ♥️

We are joyful, grateful and thankful, to walk hand and hand through this journey of life together. This is just the beginning, yet we wanted to introduce you to Mr. & Mrs. Smith!! ♥️

Day 5 of National Cancer Survivor Month.

Imagine you hear the words cancer & you’re raising a child alone as a single parent due to the other parent struggling with their own issues. You purchased a house & are building a beautiful life for your 8 year old child. I’ll never forget the day I told him. He barely let me get it out of my mouth & cried out, “I know what this means. It means you’re going to die.” And he ran to his bedroom while crying. I immediately went to his room & embraced him & told him “You didn’t let me finish what I was saying. I’m sick right now, but I’m not going anywhere. I don’t know who told you I was going to die because I’m not.” I prayed so hard that day to God to allow me to live! Dougie you were “my why.” @imakeanimpact I LOVE YOU!!!

Remember: Everything is in God’s will. Prayer is powerful, but faith is necessary!!! Faith is seeing things unseen & trusting God to see it through.

I DIDN’T QUIT…. praying. 🙏🏼

You are the woman I’ve always dreamt of and hoped for. Sweetheart I love you. I cherish you. You are captivating. You are so wise. You are so kind. You are a visionary. You are a Queen. You love Jesus. I love all that you are. God gave me favor when He allowed me to marry you. With you, I have become stronger. I love to do this life with you. I’m just grateful for you.

I was never a “runner” before this. In the last 2 months of 2025, I did my first 4 miles then a week later 8. One day just made the decision late December that I could run a half-marathon by February 1st. So why not really push myself and do a full marathon? So that’s what I embarked on, a journey of everyday endurance until I ran 15 miles straight, no headphones, about 2 weeks before the marathon. Little did I know what would be required of my body and mind for another 11.2 miles to hit the final goal during this… This was the COLDEST day in Florida..
The preparation I thought was enough…

I hit a wall in mile 18 that I never knew existed. My body, done. My mind, barely present. My will, active. Those last 8 miles were me and God. One step at a time…
I crossed that finish line with tears in my eyes out of excitement and excruciating pain, just thankful and grateful.

This 40 day journey was challenging beyond words, I wanted to do something that would challenge my mind and body in a way that would push every barrier I ever had. Each day of the 40, that happened. This made me into a new man, I see what is capable of me.

What a privilege and an honor to be in an experience like this one. This marathon had everyone, even cancer survivors themselves which was so inspiring! @262withdonna

Thank you to everyone who helped me through this, most importantly, without God I’m nothing, he pushed me through and carried me when I couldn’t do it anymore. Next, my wife who has been there to support me. My brother for coming to the race, means the world to me! My mom, for being my reason to push through despite all the circumstances, you showed me what faith and resilience looks like! Matt, you’re a champion! Lastly, the people who encouraged my journey, whether it was a like, a comment or an encouraging word.

If I inspired one person to chase their dream, I accomplished what I set out to do. You can do anything! I believe in you.
