Long overdue by a month now, but still worth sharing the experience.

Lately, I’ve been consciously intentional about finding sustainable ways to get clothes. Occasional thrifting and visiting pop-up markets from local brands are a few of the usual ways I go about it. But a truly refreshing take was being introduced to a clothes swap event early this year.

The concept is not new; I’ve had my fair share of exchanging or borrowing clothes with friends when I was younger. The thought of doing this with strangers initially struck me as intimidating, but honestly, it turned out to be pretty fun. It’s wholesome to see all kinds of women in the same space, supporting each other while we explore slow fashion together.

When I see someone picking up my preloved clothes, I’m happy knowing they'll find a new home. Even more so when I see someone’s face light up—it's infectious, and I find myself bursting with the same joy and excitement as them. It warms my heart. 💖

This was my second swap event, and I’ve been lucky in finding pieces that fit the new season I’ve envisioned for my fashion mood board. Personally, I’ve found myself developing a more grounded relationship with clothes—especially in minimizing my closet size and choosing pieces that fit my specific taste.

I’d say everyone should have the chance to experience a clothes swap at least once in their lifetime. There really is something for everyone 👯‍♀️ 🛍️ ✨

Thank you to my @stephanieboey @tiffanyresu for introducing clothes swap into my life! Also showing much love and appreciation to @fashrevmalaysia for hosting such a beautiful space! #sustainablefashion #clothes #clothesswap #localinitiative by @imamagicalcow

I've been walking this same road for months.

Different time depending on the day and weather. Switching between different Spotify podcast playlists. Letting Strava run on autopilot to lock in the steps like I was setting a goal in my mind.

Somewhere between walking out of my gate, passing by pink bougainvilleas and the corner with the potted yellow Golden Gardenias, I stopped.

Because something inside made me look up.

There were flowers everywhere. There had always been flowers everywhere around the neighborhood. I just hadn't took the time to notice them, to appreciate them. Not really.

I stood there for a while, just decided to start taking photos of things I've walked past a hundred times. And I kept thinking how everything around us is not permanent. Things go by really fast without us knowing.

The only thing that stays is that the feeling and memory that I was present standing on the road.

I think I've been so focused on getting somewhere that I forgot I have something to be grateful for. Intentional and slow living. Still figuring out what that means. But at least now I'm reminding myself to look up.
