Everyone’s a fan of our Stanley Cup Champions! A bit chilly for outdoor celebrations, but enjoying @canes season! #carolinahurricanes #halloween2026 #skeletonvibes by @imjuliacarpenter

It is not too late to enjoy the last weekend of the North Carolina State Fair. Do not be afraid of the crowds at the Fair. Check for less crowded areas near the exhibit halls. It does get crowded on upper level near Dorton Arena and Grandstand near rides and food vendors. Have a designated meeting spot if your crowd splits up. Make sure little kids know how to spot law enforcement if they get lost. It is okay to wander and absorb the sights, sounds, and tasty smells of the Fair. E Tickets will save wasting time in line at entrance. Check out the Fair website for maps, daily schedule, parking info, and FAQs. There are food options for most diets but okay to bring food into fair - check for updated rules. Bring cash for food vendors although some may accept credit cards. And, yes, I will hum the opening number for the musical: Our State Fair to get in the mood before I head for the Fairgrounds. @ncstatefair #ncstatefair #fairfood by @imjuliacarpenter

Enjoying the day at the All Things Open Conference. It is fun to talk tech without eyes glazing over. My family knows who they are. Thanks to @carolinawomenintech for the ticket. ✌️❤️👩‍💻#allthingsopen2026 #carolinawomenintech by @imjuliacarpenter

Apparently, I needed to read my own book, Start the Book Anyway, and take my own advice. 😊

Now my first fiction book, The Laurel Gap Chronicles, is in the process of being published! 📚🌲

Hidden in the Great Smoky Mountains, Laurel Gap is a refuge for supernatural beings raising families, finding love, and making trouble. When outsiders threaten their home, protecting one another becomes everyone’s business.

Expect mountain folklore, small-town humor, and a few unsettling neighbors.

I will share the link once the book is available. Would you stop for coffee in Laurel Gap? ☕🏔️

I can finally say it: my first published book is available! 📚

Start the Book Anyway: Stop Overthinking and Start Writing is now on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.

I wrote this for anyone who wants to write a book but keeps questioning whether they are ready. I know that feeling. The self-doubt, the unfinished drafts, the struggle to find time, and the temptation to revise the same paragraph again.

This book offers encouragement drawn from my own imperfect writing experience. You can begin while you are still figuring things out.

If that sounds familiar, I hope you find something in these pages that helps you start.

Something I have been working on for a long time is almost ready to leave my desk.

Start the Book Anyway is at the final Amazon stage.

This book is for the person who keeps thinking about writing a book, starts one and stops, or wonders whether what they have written is good enough to keep going.

It is less about how to write and more about giving yourself permission to keep writing.

The book is coming. 📚

And yes, some of the images I am using for this launch are AI-generated because who has time for a full photoshoot these days? 😄

Life is a series of paths. Some smooth and some rough. One has to consider the alternatives to current path if it is time to head in a new direction. I am looking forward to taking a new path in my professional life. ✌️❤️🥰 by @imjuliacarpenter
