Luckily for me, the Raiders didn’t stress me out today 😂

1-0 to start the season. We’re undefeated 🙌🏾

But honestly, sitting here watching my team in my own basement hit me a little differently today.

This is the first time I’ve gotten to watch a Raiders game in a house I own.

And I feel pretty freaking blessed.

I think sometimes we get so focused on what we’re trying to build that we forget to look around and appreciate what we’ve already built.

Today, I’m just grateful for this. by @imkainyk

I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want my dash to look like.

Not just what I accomplish.

But who I get to spend it with.
The memories I make.
The ordinary moments that end up meaning the most.

Because none of us know how long the dash is going to be.

I do know the days we have with him being home everyday are flying by quicker than I can comprehend.

It’s the little moments like these that I actually love the most and will treasure forever.

Day 4 of 30.

I was sick today, but I showed up anyway.

Today’s story was about making ordinary moments feel special.

I used 3 bullet points to help me find the story:

• People
• Defining your dash
• Life is short

And I’m starting to realize that storytelling isn’t always about finding some crazy thing that happened.

Sometimes it’s about looking at an ordinary moment differently—and finding the meaning in it.

Day 4 done. 26 to go.

Day 3 of 30.

Today I tried something different.

Instead of just hitting record and hoping a story came out, I gave myself 3 bullet points to help organize my thoughts.

It helped A TON!

I also took 3 takes before I felt like I had a better story.

What the 3 takes taught me:

I thought I knew the story I wanted to tell. But each time I told it, I heard something different—and by the third take, I finally started finding the story I was actually trying to tell.

Still a long way to go, but I’m learning.

Day 3 done. 27 to go.

Day 2 of 30.

That was hard as f$ck.

I’ve spoken on plenty of stages, but put a camera in front of me and tell me to tell a story in one minute@and disaster strikes. Crazy how these two versions of me are the same people.

I forget words, lost my train of thought and honestly I know the story was there, but the storytelling wasn’t.

I definitely didn’t tell something that gave anyone a reason to care.

And that’s exactly why I’m doing this.

For the next 30 days, I’m doing one one-minute storytelling exercise every day.

I’m not trying to be perfect.

I’m trying to get better.

A LOT better.

And if it’ll help, I’ll share what I’m learning along the way.

Starting is easy.

Staying is the work.

Just wondering - how important is the role male friendships play in a mans life these days?

Ive noticed as we get older it gets harder to make and sustain friendships. But I think 2-3 days with the fellas once a year and monthly male binding of some sort is good for the soul.

Would love to hear everyones thoughts on this #malefriendship

As a mixed man - I’ve always been told I was an oreo… I’ve never been “black” enough or “white” enough.

Thought I would be bad at “rapping” but Itoday I found my voice in that booth.

It was so nice to just be able to be today. No races were inside that booth.

No expectations.

Just a bunch of dudes having fun doing what none of us had done before.

It was such an amazing experience I can’t wait to take my younging so he can play too. by @imkainyk

Maybe the problem isn’t that you have bad ideas.

Maybe you just haven’t stuck with one long enough to see what it can become.

I think there’s something missing from how we’re being taught storytelling for social media.

And I’m probably the last person who should be saying that because I feel like I suck at storytelling right now.

So I’m giving myself 90 days to get better at it.
One story every day.

Along the way, I’ll share what I’m learning too.

If you want to get better at storytelling, maybe we can figure it out together.

Day 1.

Just because someone gave you a financial rule 30 years ago doesn’t mean it automatically makes sense for the life you’re living today.

Dave Ramsey. 50/30/20. The “right” way to budget.

They’re frameworks. They aren’t law.

I want you to start challenging the financial advice you hear.

Not with, “Is this what I’m supposed to do?”

But:

“Does this actually make sense for my life?”

Because your finances shouldn’t be built around somebody else’s rules.

They should be built around your life.

And that’s the conversation I want to have here.

I’m going to keep challenging the “right way” to do money—and showing you different ways to think about it.

If you’ve ever felt like you were bad at money because someone else’s system didn’t work for you, you’re probably going to want to stick around.

I’ve spent a lot of my life getting excited about a new idea, starting something, losing momentum, and eventually moving on to the next thing. I used to think the problem was that I was a quitter. I’m starting to realize I might just be a really good starter who never gave myself enough time to see what could happen if I stayed.

So that’s what I’m trying to change. I’m picking something and giving myself the time, reps, and accountability to actually see it through. I don’t know exactly where this is going yet, but I do know I’m tired of starting over. Maybe having you along for the ride will help me stick with it.
