When life gets overwhelming, sometimes you just have to be your own motivational speaker. 😂

The enthusiasm is questionable, but the advice is solid.

When I run out of legal advice, the life advice kicks in. 😂

At this point, I’m part attorney, part therapist, part motivational speaker, and occasionally the voice of reason nobody asked for.

Because sometimes the best advice I can give you has absolutely nothing to do with the law.

You came for legal counsel. You stayed for the unsolicited life lessons.

Voting is officially OPEN for the 2027 OCTLA Board of Directors! ⚖️

I’m excited to share that I’m running for a seat on the 2027 Orange County Trial Lawyers Association Board of Directors!

Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to be part of an incredible community of trial lawyers who advocate fiercely for their clients, support one another, and work tirelessly to protect access to justice.

As someone who has built my practice from the ground up, I know firsthand the value of mentorship, collaboration, and a strong trial lawyer community.

I would be truly honored to have the support of my colleagues as I seek to step into this new role and give back to a community that has given me so much.

If you’re an OCTLA member, I would greatly appreciate your vote!

Here’s to continuing to strengthen our community, elevate our profession, and advocate for those who need us most.

Thank you for your support! 💙

NOT YOUR AVERAGE PERSONAL INJURY LAWYER. ⚖️😏

I may not be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s perfectly fine.

I’m outspoken, a little unconventional, fiercely competitive, and not particularly interested in doing things just because “that’s how they’ve always been done.”

I take my work seriously. Myself? Not so much.

I’ll laugh, I’ll joke, I’ll challenge the status quo, and I’ll absolutely ruffle a few feathers along the way.

But when it comes to my clients, my cases, and standing up to insurance companies? That’s where the fun and games end.

You don’t have to fit the mold to be damn good at what you do.
And after 15 years of building my own practice, I’ve learned that being unapologetically yourself might just be your greatest competitive advantage.

Not your average lawyer. Never tried to be. 💙

Your uninsured motorist coverage may be worth more than you think. 🚗

California’s minimum auto liability insurance requirement is now $30,000 per person. But what happens when you’re seriously injured and the at-fault driver’s insurance isn’t nearly enough?

That’s where underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage comes in.

If you carry $100,000 in UM/UIM coverage and the at-fault driver only has $30,000 in coverage, you could potentially access another $70,000 through your own insurance policy.

That’s potentially $100,000 in total available coverage instead of just $30,000.

The catch? Many people don’t even realize they have this protection or understand how it works.

Know your policy. Know your coverage. Know your rights. Because when an accident happens, the insurance you purchased to protect yourself can make all the difference.

Coverage depends on policy terms, applicable offsets, liability, damages, and California law. This post is for general informational purposes only and is not legal advice.

The cost of an injury doesn’t end when the case settles.

For many injury victims, the greatest financial burden isn’t what they’ve already endured. It’s what lies ahead.

Future medical care can mean years of treatment, injections, surgeries, rehabilitation, and ongoing support. And when we’re evaluating a case, those future needs cannot be an afterthought.

Life care planning and medical cost projections are critical tools in understanding the true lifetime impact of an injury.

But it’s not just about putting numbers on a spreadsheet. It’s about understanding what our clients will need to maintain their health, independence, and quality of life long after their case is over.

We get one opportunity to get it right. Because once a case settles, there is no coming back for more.

That’s why thorough case preparation matters. And why the future deserves just as much attention as the past.

DAMAGE QUEEN: Are We Missing the Most Important Part of the Case?

In personal injury litigation, we spend countless hours proving liability, analyzing medical records, calculating medical expenses, and working up economic damages. But what about the human factor?

At trial, general damages—pain, suffering, emotional distress, and loss of enjoyment of life—are often the largest component of what we’re asking a jury to award. Yet, ironically, they’re frequently the component attorneys spend the least amount of time developing.

A medical record can tell you what happened to someone’s body. It can’t tell you what happened to their life.

That takes time. That takes listening. That takes understanding who your client was before the injury and who they’ve become because of it.

In this clip from my podcast, Damage Queen, we discuss why proving the human impact of an injury should never be an afterthought.

If we’re going to ask a jury to value someone’s suffering, we better put in the work to help them understand it.

A Sunday morning well spent! 🏃‍♀️❤️🏃‍♂️

This morning, my husband and I traded our usual Sunday routine for a 5K supporting the Jasper Foundation and its mission to raise awareness and prevent childhood drownings.

As parents, there are few causes more meaningful than protecting our children. Every child deserves to grow up safe, and every family deserves to be spared the heartbreak of a preventable tragedy.

What a beautiful way to start our Sunday—getting some exercise, spending quality time together, and supporting a cause that truly matters.

A little movement, a lot of purpose, and a reminder that giving back is always time well spent. 💙

Another great Justice Society event! ⚖️

One of the things I love most about the personal injury community is being surrounded by like-minded attorneys who are passionate about what they do, committed to growing, and always willing to share knowledge and experiences.

This time, we had the opportunity to learn from @doctor_benji , gaining valuable medical insight that helps us better understand our clients’ injuries and advocate more effectively on their behalf.

No matter how long you’ve been practicing, there is always something new to learn. Surround yourself with people who challenge you, inspire you, and push you to be better.

Grateful for this incredible community and the relationships that make us all better attorneys! 🙌
