I made up a game for people with codependent tendencies!! grab a personal growth buddy and enjoy 🌟
.
questions are defined on your own terms, it's okay to tell your practice buddy what you want them to ask you
.
spend as much time on the warmup round as you need to feel comfortable ✨

BOUNDARIES: YOU CAN SET THEM EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON OR WHAT YOU ARE FEELING INSIDE 💜

we re-enact our own trauma on ourselves and on people around us over and over again until we learn to examine and challenge our own triggers.
.
IT'S OKAY if you are not good at trigger management right now. no one starts good at it. IT'S OKAY to be scared. triggers are legitimately overwhelming. but this is how you break the cycle.
.
if you don't want this to affect your life any more, try somatic therapy, read "From Surviving To Thriving" by Pete Walker, or check out my website for more recommended resources. (This is intended for informational purposes and not as a substitute for professional advice.)

boundaries! they are super important for you AND other people, but also very confusing and ad-hoc, and that is okay!
.
IT'S OKAY if you don't have healthy boundary setting skills right this instant. that just means no one ever taught you, and it's not your fault. IT'S OKAY if you are terrified of setting boundaries. IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT 💜

hello fellow people with codependent tendencies or insecure attachment styles, I know it can feel super scary and difficult sometimes to express your true emotions with people you love, out of fear of being punished, judged, dismissed, or abandoned, and
.
it is NOT YOUR FAULT that you were forced to hide in the past to stay safe then, and that you feel it's safer to not communicate, but
.
non-communication is how you GUARANTEE that your needs won't get met
.
I promise you will be pleasantly surprised by the number of people in the world who actually give a shit about you and want to be around you in a way that feels good and safe and considerate to you, but they don't know how because they aren't fucking mind readers
.
please don't leave your loved ones in a state of feeling like they can't do anything right for you! they really want to!

Follow-up from the last post: some ways to ask for help when you have no idea what you need. THIS FEELING IS COMPLETELY NORMAL AND OKAY.

Are you one of those people who doesn't ask for help? TOO BAD BECAUSE YOU DO DESERVE LOVE AND SUPPORT OK
.
A non-decision is a decision to do nothing. If you feel like you are struggling, please, please don't wait until it gets worse to ask for help. A therapist's literal job is holding space for people who don't have all the answers, aka everyone.

A surprising number of people who have previously said "haha, I definitely don't have Trauma" have found it very relatable if I describe the experience of having trauma without using any labels.
.
I believe in your inherent worth no matter what kind of difficult time you're having 💜 I really mean it.

WHAT'S TRAUMA?
.
You can experience trauma during events that wouldn't bother other people! You can experience trauma without abuse! You can experience trauma in a consensual situation!
.
It's all deeply contextual to what your mind and body are or aren't able to cope with. It might not be anyone's fault if you have trauma, and it's definitely not your fault.
