NWFC EPEE SUMMER CAMP 🇯🇵

What an incredible few days of high-level epee fencing with Olympic champions Koki Kano and Masaru Yamada!

The camp was truly next level — world-class fencing, intense training, and an incredible amount of tactical and technical knowledge shared directly from Olympic athletes.

🔥 Fencing every day with Olympic-level athletes
🔥 High-level technical work
🔥 Tactical understanding and decision-making
🔥 Individual feedback and corrections
🔥 Open bouting and real fencing situations
🔥 Learning how elite athletes think, prepare, and compete

The biggest takeaway? There is always another level to reach.

A huge thank you to @kanokoki3568 and @masaru_fencing for sharing their experience, knowledge, and passion for epee. It was an amazing opportunity to learn from two athletes who compete and succeed at the highest level of our sport.

High-level fencing. High-level information. High-level inspiration. ⚔️🇯🇵 by @ioanadoltu

Last day of camp and what a day it was! Koki and Masaru seem to never run out of energy, they fenced up until after 6pm with anyone who wanted to. This camp is always so special not only because of their talent but, because they are present with every student. Thank you @kanokoki3568 @masaru_fencing @kent_iyoki and @ioanadoltu 💪

Some photos are more than memories—they’re pieces of your heart. 🥹

Today Gabi @gabicimpoaie sent me this photo.

My dad on the left. Coach Mr. Codreanu (my “Harry Potter” coach 🤭). Maria Vicol, my very first coach and one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met. 🥲Andreea, Gaby @gabicimpoaie and me… maybe 15 years old, at what I think was the World Championships in Bulgaria, wearing my favorite Adidas fencing shoes.

Looking at this photo, I don’t just see people—I see the ones who shaped my journey. I see the little girl who loved fencing with everything she had, never imagining where the sport would take her.

Some memories never fade. They simply wait for the right moment to remind you who you are. ❤️🤺 by @ioanadoltu
