Chewed up at spat out at Little Sugar yet again this year. Felt like my back got tossed in the tumble dryer on high about halfway through which really slowed me down out there. After many cramps, a little crash, and one wrong turn, I rolled in for 6th in the U23 @lifetimegrandprix, putting me 2nd overall going into the finale this Saturday 🤯. Never would have thought that was possible earlier this year. Ain’t no plan but to leave it all out there this weekend. Huge shoutout to @luke_mosteller for lending me a wheel for this race. I discovered my front wheel had a seismic crack the night before, and this guy let me use his spare. Absolute class. Thanks @dhughes101 as always for the flics 📸 #mtb #ilikerocks #mybackhurtsnow #supercaliber by @isaac.allred31
Wild day out in the Wisconsin north woods at @cheqmtb. After going thermonuclear off the start, I found myself on the back foot for most of the day, feeling like I was well behind where I should have been. Really happy with how I was able to keep my head in the game and pick riders off throughout the day. Found myself sprinting a handful of U23 lads by the end, and realized I had nabbed 🥈 in the U23 LTGP. I’m really proud of the work I was able to put in for this race and it feels really good to pull off a strong result against such a ridiculously stacked field. Lots more lessons learned, and motivation built for the last two @lifetimegrandprix races of the season. The legs are feeling absolutely primo thanks to the guidance of @chasethebiker. Finally starting to see some power PR’s poke through after what’s felt like a pretty stagnant year and a half. Tremendous thank you to everyone supporting me: Ma & Pa @adventurecycleandski @warkscyclingservices @champsys @carbsfuel 📸 @dhughes101 by @isaac.allred31
Leadville put me right in ma feels this year 🥹🥲 From about the halfway point of the race, I could not stop thinking about how one year ago I was sidelined with a concussion and truly struggling mentally. Since then, feeling good in a race has been a very infrequent experience. It feels pretty damn good to see a little bit of success again. This past year ain’t been easy, but I ride my bike with quite a bit more gratitude than I used to. 40th Elite, 5th in the U23 @lifetimegrandprix on the day Thank you to everyone that supports me along the way @champsys @warkscyclingservices @adventurecycleandski @carbsfuel @stansnotubes 📸1,2,5 @dhughes101 3 @becky_boy_ 4 @lindaguerrettephoto #thiccboisclimbingclub #leadville100mtb by @isaac.allred31
Huge thanks to @stansnotubes for keeping me all sealed up for the rest of the season! I’m a huge fan of their Race Day Sealant when it comes down to crunch time 🥣🚵‍♂️ #stansnotubes #mtb #blessed #fruitydinobiteswithmarshmallows by @isaac.allred31
Highlights from a few solid weeks of training. It’s been just over a year since I catapulted myself over a mountain and hit my head, so I’m feeling extra grateful for these recent adventures. I’m really excited to test how my fitness has been coming along this weekend at the @focofondo. 118 miles of full gas racing will let me know right where the legs are at. by @isaac.allred31
Had an absolutey phenomenal weekend racing the @the.hotdish on home turf! I barely hung on to a very aero @chasethebiker for 🥈in the 100 mile race Saturday, and managed to nab 🥇 in Sunday’s 60 mile race. So much fun ripping on the old training grounds. Hats off to @chasethebiker and @brotherbinks for putting on such a fun event. So glad I could make it back for this one. @jbeissel with the sweet shots 📸 by @isaac.allred31
What the hell was even that Lots of emotion after unbound this year. So many things were not going right for me into this race. It was only after lots of convincing from @brookeleannd and friends that I even decided to race. I was grateful at the very least to be on the start line, and after the wildest day I’ve ever had on a bike, managed to eke out a 7th place overall. Thanks again to the @mach1__performance crew for letting me crash y’all’s party once again. And everybody else that keeps me rollin: @adventurecycleandski @warkscyclingservices @champsys @carbsfuel @kyle_dawez with the feed zone flicks 📸 by @isaac.allred31
I once heard someone say it’s “better to be 10% undertrained than 1% overtrained” So I thought: “DOUBLE IT” 🤑 Came into this year’s @seaotterclassic gravel race with low expectations. The fitness has been trending in the right direction the past two months, but still far from where I would be ideally. Despite setting the bar pretty low for myself given the past year, I managed to subceed even the most modest of goals here. Rolling in roughly 40 minutes slower than an already slow previous year, and so far down the results sheet my thumb got sore scrolling down the whole thing. No proper excuse for this one, the lights went out early and never came back on. HOWEVER, nothing irks me more than seeing “DNF” next to my name when it’s all said and done, so I’m proud to have crawled my way to the finish line of this savage race. Taking another step back, I’m incredibly grateful to have the ability to train and (attempt) to race at a high level again. Besides the race, it was a fantastic week of hanging out with the @mach1__performance team, can’t thank y’all enough for the hospitality. Racing is hard, bikes are still fun. Onto the next. by @isaac.allred31
Collegiate gravel Nats‼️I’m incredibly proud of this team for turning up and taking home the big belt at the first ever edition of this race. Thanks to @usacycling and @valleyoftearsgravel for making this race happen. Really wanted more to show for myself on the results sheet, but after dealing with some lingering concussion issues over the winter, I’m really grateful just to have gotten across the finish line without a headache. Now looking forward to building towards the bigger goals of this spring. I’ve got some catching up to do fitness-wise. A huge thank you goes out to all the people who continue to support me in this sport. Shit’s expensive. It would not be possible without the support. @flccycling @adventurecycleandski @warkscyclingservices @champsys @carbsfuel @oakleybike by @isaac.allred31

Absolutely nothing special to write home about results-wise for the Little Sugar 100k (40th?), but after the past three months I've had, I couldn't ask for much more. Grateful for the opportunity to come out here and race, but I look forward to bringing some better fitness next time. Next weekend, we wrap up the U23 @lifetimegrandprix with the @bigsugarclassic. Surely the legs will show up by then...? 📸- @itsjonnyramirez catching me lacking by @isaac.allred31
Nothing makes you appreciate the things ya got more than when ya can’t have ‘em. It’s a huge relief to finally get the green light to race and train again. Bummed to have missed out on so much this season, but there’s no better way to get back into it than with proper home race weekend. Time to get back at it by @isaac.allred31
