Liminality…a turn of the season. We love the pause, where time can breathe.

Happy birthday Mark! What an incredible way to spend this special day with you, here in Italy—surrounded by a remarkable group of colleagues, friends and family. As our trip approaches the final day, we cruise the waters of Portofino…the perfect end to another Candelaria Design Tour and such an extraordinary time together. —Isabel

Candelaria Design, Italy 🇮🇹. We arrived at the stunning Villa di Piazzano for a private dinner tucked below in an ancient Roman wine cellar. The setting was spectacular, the wine was flowing, and, true to form, Mark broke into song, with a wave of laughter on cue. Beautiful spaces, and the very best of company.

Prossima tappa… Portofino!

All together, Umbria style! Aprons on, wine poured…while hostesses Elizabeth and Paola taught us ‘how it’s done’! We crafted homemade pasta from scratch, grilled meats, and whipped up a little tiramisu. Always a favorite for the Candelaria Italy tour. @candelariadesign @earthandimages 🇮🇹

Today’s sourcing trip brought us to Lacole Casa Italiana in Perugia, Italy — an impressive 30,000 square meter showroom dedicated to exquisite antiquities, architectural relics, and vestigial design. Such incredible finds for upcoming projects.

Here we go!!! Today we start our 29th @candelariadesign Tour and our 20th Tour Italy!
.
We have set up an incredible 16 day tour of Italy starting in Florence, then off to our farmhouse compound in Umbria where we will tour incredible venues across Umbria and Tuscany, and then we will finish along the Ligurian Sea with our home base in Santa Margherita.
.
I have a total of 17 travelers joining me including 9 repeat travelers from prior tours!
.
26 years of tours! It’s hard to believe…. These tours have taught me so much about life and this journey we are all on. I love it and I’m so excited to share 16 days with my wife @isabeldellingercandelaria of @earthandimages and my daughter Tiffany @tcdoesfnb and all of my travelers! They are in for such an incredible experience!
.
Ok follow along - we will do some live instagrams and a podcast so stay tuned for that! In fact go to my bio for the link to a podcast recorded at the Umbrian country houses on our 2022 Tour!

Laughter rests easily here, with a place for many hands and ideas, over a hearty butcher block island. The block is well-loved, etching stories and memories into the grooves after each meal preparation.

The Herb Box eatery (Old Town Scottsdale), promises bright and vivid flavors, focusing on locally-sourced ingredients and seasonal menus. A nourishing eatery — in full bloom with vibrant, navy blues, a procession of oversized chandeliers bridged by exposed ductwork.

We celebrate a true labor of love — the working garden at Casa del Tesoro, and a flourishing idea to ‘dig in’ to fertile soil and community.

Just outside the grand Spanish gates of this urban Spanish Colonial home, an astonishing ‘oasis of plenty’ hums with chattering wildlife, dancing fountains and the rustling of lush vegetation. The expansive grounds echo a Costa Rican Eden — boasting unusual flora including ginkgo biloba, guava, mahogany, pomegranate, and macadamia.
