Just a room full of grown men getting emotional to electronic music. 😂🤝

Took the kids to their first rave last year with @lenjpearce and what an experience. I'm a big fan of EDM.

I'm big on exposing my kids to different things. Different music, different cultures, different environments. I don't want their experiences limited to what we traditionally think kids should be doing.

That's why I really appreciate artists like Lenny who create spaces where kids and parents can enjoy something together.

The kids had an absolute blast, and so did we.

And for my Portland people, Lenny is coming October 23! Definitely recommend checking him out if you're looking for something different to experience with your kids.

More of these kinds of experiences, please! ❤️

The older I get, the more I understand my parents.

I think I started noticing life's pressures around 15 or 16. But at 18 or 20, I was still just trying to figure life out, make something of myself, and be the best I could be. I had no idea what my parents were carrying behind the scenes.

Now I get it.

Work, finances, relationships, health, raising kids, and the constant pressure to keep everything moving while trying to hold yourself together.

And the crazy part is, most of us are still just trying to figure it out. Trying to do our best with whatever life throws at us.

Sometimes we get so caught up in our own struggles that we forget the people closest to us are carrying their own weight too.

Marcus Aurelius wrote, "For we have been born for mutual aid."

We don't have to agree on everything or see life the same way. But we could all use a little more empathy, patience, and understanding for what others are going through.

Life is already a mountain we're all trying to climb. The least we can do is stop making the climb harder for each other.

We're not enemies. We're on the same team.

Happy National Daughters Day 💛🌽 We have a saying in Spanish: "chulada de maíz prieto." It's the perfect way to describe my girls. Like the rare dark corn that's hard to find and worth more than gold, they're one of a kind and precious to me. Proud to be their dad. 🐯

Took the kids to sauna night ♨️

Thank you @sauna.glo for hosting, and for creating a space where kids are welcome, where they can learn, get curious, and get comfortable around the sauna without being scared.

It got me thinking. In a lot of other countries the kids just come. They learn the etiquette, they learn how to be in the space, how to respect the community. Here everything feels split. Adult spaces, kid spaces. Parents vs. kids instead of all of us together.

I love what SaunaGlow is doing. Anything family-oriented that actually helps us do this with our kids, I'm all for it.

Took me back to my mom teaching us at the local pool when I was young. Cold plunge, sauna. We just learned it young. It wasn't scary, it was normal.

Saw a mom there tonight who clearly needed a minute. I volunteered to watch her kids for a bit so she could breathe. That's the community part we all say we're missing, and it's right there when we let it happen.

One thing though. It's not a free-for-all. Some parents treated it like a place to just let the kids loose, and that's not it. Parents still parent. Etiquette still matters. That's what keeps the space good for everyone. 🙏 by @isai.montesdeoca

I always talk crap about parent's doing these things for their kids..... now I'm one of them lol

Apparently dads are supposed to stay home, be responsible, and slowly forget they ever had hobbies.

I’ll pass.

Sometimes dancing, music, and getting out of my own head is part of staying grounded.

Then I go home and be Dad again.

Happy birthday to my last one. My curveball. Lazarus.

His name means “God has helped,” and maybe that’s exactly why he ended up in our story.

Stubborn. Smart. Determined. Creative. Funny as hell and already way too good with the comebacks.

This kid knows exactly what he wants.

It makes raising him intense sometimes… but I have a feeling that same fire is going to make him something special.

Happy birthday, carbon. Never lose it. ❤️ by @isai.montesdeoca

The older I get, the more I realize I don’t want to stop living just because life gets more serious.

Still want the memories. Still want the music. Still want the passion. by @isai.montesdeoca
