POSTS STORIES REELS

So it’s #wrestlingwednesday today and I realized that I never really talked on social media about my situation and why I am no longer wrestling, but I always get the same questions, “Are you still wrestling in college?” or “When are we going to get you back in the room?” which made it clear that a lot of people in general don’t know. The reason why I stopped wrestling is because I have seizures. I started having petite seizures starting around 8th grade, but we didn’t know what it was because these petite seizures didn’t make my arms or legs jerk uncontrollably like what we usually think when it comes to seizures. I would just lose feelings in my hands and mouth. That was going on until the summer before junior year when I was in Ohio for the world trials. We just got in and checked in to the hotel, we were all sleeping, then I started convulsing. I had my first grand mal seizure. I finally gained consciousness in the ambulance, and didn’t know what was going on. I ended up not wrestling at the trials, didn’t even get to weigh in. Once we got home, I did a bunch of tests like EEG, EKG, and CAT scans; there was no sign of abnormality. I ended up still wrestling my junior and senior year. Those years were very stressful, I wanted to quit wrestling, but I wanted to finish my last two seasons. I ended up having a lot more seizures during those two years. One happened after wrestling the quarters at CIF State, the semis was the next morning and i felt horrible. I did not want to wrestle but I didn’t know when I could have the chance to wrestle in the semis again, and I knew in my heart I could win. I didn’t. I ended up losing every match that day and to people I beaten the day before. I ended up getting 6th. At the moment, I thought I should have just not wrestled at all that day and would ended up with the same place. Later I was happy I didn’t give up. Now, senior year, i was not getting any better, and just didn’t want to start my wrestling season at all. But of course I did because I wanted to finish my high school wrestling career with my team and didn’t want to disappoint anyone. That year I wrestled the least out of any of my seasons because I was not motivate by @isaiahpalomino
