An closeup view of the painting. Not just toys but little pieces of nostalgia✨ @samsaraacademyofart #oilpainting #stilllife #realism #artschool #atelier by @ishitasoni.art
Bust of the Duchesssa Di urbino oil on canvas 2025 This study taught me a lot about balancing a unified light shape while still maintaining the form. Instead of focusing on every small value change, I learned to think in larger masses and keep the light family connected. At the same time, I had to make sure the subtle plane changes were still visible so the sculpture didn’t lose its volume and feel flat. I also spent time experimenting with textures and brushwork. Rather than treating every surface the same, I explored how different textures could create atmosphere and add visual interest. This study reminded me that texture isn’t just decoration it can be used to support the composition, strengthen the focal point, and enhance the overall mood of a painting. @samsaraacademyofart #oilpainting #castpainting #realism #artschool #atelier by @ishitasoni.art
St Jerome cast oil on canvas 2025 i did this in a limited palette, exploring textures and how atmospheric colours affect the white surface. Learning to observe the subtle shifts in color and temperature. @samsaraacademyofart #oilpainting #castpainting #realism #artschool #atelier by @ishitasoni.art
"david's eye cast" oil on canvas 2025 this was my first cast painting in grisaille and it was both exciting and intimidating. I spent most of the time understanding the forms, values and learning how to handle the brush. I also focused on brush application and how different brush marks could help describe the form. I was happy with the progress I made but I wasn’t fully satisfied. There was still so much to learn. @samsaraacademyofart #oilpainting #castpainting #artschool #atelier #painting by @ishitasoni.art
"The Laocoon" nitram and white chalk on paper 2024 this cast took longer than I expected. there were moments when I felt stuck especially trying to understand the larger shadow shapes and subtle transitions. But somewhere in the process I stopped worrying about finishing and started enjoying the act of looking. In the end I learned much more than I expected. @samsaraacademyofart #castdrawing #classicalart #nitramcharcoal #ateliertraining #drawing by @ishitasoni.art
"Unyielding gaze" nitram charcoal and white chalk on paper 2024 This was my first attempt in charcoal portrait. A boy with a calm, strong stare. His hair and rudraksh beads connect him to old wisdom. The dark shawl shows a simple life. He looks ahead with focus, walking from darkness into light. "Whispers from the Abyss" Skull cast drawing Charcoal and white chalk on Arches 2024 You may first notice a skull. But look a little longer. The books hold forgotten stories and wisdom softened by time. The dice speak of fate, uncertain, restless, and beyond our complete control. A feather rests lightly among them, carrying the smallest possibility of hope. And through it all, a handmade spider web binds the composition together, quietly reminding us how deeply connected these fragments of existence truly are. Drawn in charcoal and white chalk on paper, this work follows an atelier approach, where drawing is not merely about reproducing objects, but about learning to see truthfully. Through careful observation of light, structure, edge, atmosphere, and the quiet poetry held within ordinary forms. Perhaps these are not merely objects arranged in shadow, but whispers from the abyss itself, speaking of life, loss, memory, and the knowledge that lingers long after silence arrives. #classicaldrawing #drawingstudy #figuredrawing #ArtPractice #ateliertraining by @ishitasoni.art
nitram charcoal on paper 2024 this cast study is less about the face, and more about understanding form in its purest state. the focus shifts from “drawing a face” to observing how light defines volume how it gently turns across the forehead, breaks at the brow, sinks into the eye sockets, and re-emerges along the planes of the cheek and jaw. it teaches you to see beyond features, to think in terms of structure, weight, and presenceto notice edges that disappear, shadows that breathe, and forms that exist only because of light. #classicaldrawing #drawingstud #figuredrawing #artpractice by @ishitasoni.art
"the ecstasy of st.teressa" nitram on paper 2023 Done from life under controlled lighting focusing purely on planes, structure, and value relationships. This practice trains the eye to see subtle transitions and strengthens tonal control. #classicaldrawing #drawingstud #figuredrawing #ArtPractice #ateliertraining charcoalandgraphit academicart fineartdrawing samsaraacademyofart artistpractice drawingprocess realisticdrawing classicalart mastercopydrawing by @ishitasoni.art
''david's ear cast'' nitram on arches paper 2023 ear cast study done from life under controlled lighting. The focus was on understanding the structure and form of the ear, accurate proportion, and subtle transitions between light and shadow. This exercise helps strengthen observation and control over values while maintaining edge hierarchy and tonal balance. @samsaraacademyofart #classicaldrawing #drawingstud #figuredrawing #ArtPractice #ateliertraining #charcoalandgraphit #academicart #fineartdrawing #samsaraacademyofart #artistpractice #drawingprocess #realisticdrawing #classicalart #mastercopydrawing by @ishitasoni.art
bargue plate 54 pencil on paper long hours of observing, measuring, erasing, starting again, and slowly watching the form appear. this one felt less about patience and more about focus. every angle in the hair, every shadow in the beard, every plane of the face demanded attention. It was like piecing together a puzzle where the only clues were light and form. somewhere in the middle of all the measuring and rendering, I realised these studies aren’t about making a “perfect copy.” they're about sharpening the way you see. @samsaraacademyofart #barguedrawing #classicaldrawing #drawingstudy #pencilart #figuredrawing #ArtPractice #ateliertraining #charcoalandgraphit #academicart #fineartdrawing #pencilsketch #samsaraacademyofart #artistpractice #drawingprocess #realisticdrawing #classicalart by @ishitasoni.art
bargue plate I,9 pencil on paper Did this study at @samsaraacademyofart Honestly, it tested every bit of my patience. Just observing, measuring, erasing, starting over again… until the form slowly began to appear. I remember at one point thinking it’s just a foot, how hard can it be? Turns out, very. But that’s where the learning was in slowing down, trusting the process, and letting the drawing teach me more than I expected. #barguedrawing #classicaldrawing #drawingstudy #pencilart #figuredrawing #ArtPractice #ateliertraining #charcoalandgraphit #academicart #fineartdrawing #pencilsketch #samsaraacademyofart #artistpractice #drawingprocess #realisticdrawing #classicalart by @ishitasoni.art
