POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi! I’m Rachael 👋 Here you’ll get adventure, therapist, somatic experiencing, health, come along as I build my life, and “idk what I’m doing with this social media thing😅” content….all with a healthy sprinkle of rage at oppressive systems.

You WON’T get AI curated content, daily posts, expert advice, “my life is perfectly aesthetic & put together” content.

Thanks for coming along for the ride 🫶 by @its.rachael.k

Would I choose it again? Absolutely. Do I love my internship site? YES. It’s the larger systems that get me fired up. If you have questions, let me know!

Update: when I say “privileged profession” my intention is to highlight the systemic issues that make getting through school difficult, not to call everyone in the field privileged.

Sharing for those interested in knowing what the SE training was like, not to hate on other certs.

Update: post grad plan is forming lol

I’m a Holistic Health and Life Coach and here's my story....

Flash back 5 years ago….

I had once been fit, healthy, and a great student. But at this blurry point in my life, I was none of those things. I had gained over 100lbs, and was self medicating with food and alcohol. I knew I was slowly destroying my body and my future but I didn’t care. I felt helpless. I thought I was too far gone, there was no way I was going to pull myself out of this hole. I was exhausted, and quite honestly hated myself. I disdained looking in the mirror, going out with friends, even walking up the stairs. I often asked myself how had I let things get so bad?

Flash forward to today…. I lost ALL the weight and kept it off. I spend my free time mountain biking, hiking, and lift weights. I feel good in my skin and I wear the dang BIKINI. More importantly though, I have learned how to care for myself physically and mentally. I wake up feeling confident and connected. The version of me 5 years ago would never have imagined I would feel & be the person I am today. Now I often ask myself how healthy can I get?

IMPORTANT NOTE: My story isn’t just about weight-loss. It’s about transforming self-judgment into empowerment, feeling better physically & mentally. Mental and physical health are completely and totally intertwined. When you improve one, you improve the other.

My transformation ignited a passion in me, which is why after getting my degree in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience, I decided to spend a year getting certified as a Holistic Health and Life Coach (and am continuing my education for another year).

I combine…
• Health
• Mindfulness
• Neuroscience
• Embodiment

To help women who know the frustration of waking up in the am knowing there is more for them. I help them find their inner strength, build confidence and intuition, and start living into their purpose.

If you can relate to any part of my story, and want to transform your body & mindset,

This trip to Portugal was born out of grit and determination to pursue my wilder desires, even if I have to go alone. It pushed my capacity to navigate novelty and challenge.

&

It didn’t diminish the desire for someone to enter my life who feels like home in the unknown and who can carry the team when I’m on empty.

I’m proud that I can do it alone while enjoying my own company AND one day I hope I won’t have to 💕
