As Día de Muertos comes to a close, we take down the ofrenda, but never the love that brought it to life 🕯️🌼

For these special days, we opened our homes and our hearts once again, making space for the souls we carry with us surrounded by their photographs, the things they loved, and the memories that keep them close.

Maybe we’ll never know for certain what happens on October 27. But I choose to believe that, for a little while, the distance between this world and the next disappears, and those we miss so deeply find their way home.

There is something beautiful about this tradition. It reminds us that saying goodbye doesn’t mean forgetting. We send our loved ones back with gratitude for the lives they shared with us, knowing their place in our hearts remains long after the candles have gone out.

The flowers will fade, the altar will come down, and Día de Muertos will pass… but their stories, their paw prints, and the love they left behind will stay🪽

Until next year, when we open the door and welcome you home again 🌼
