He spent years counting to three while wrestlers shoved him around. Canterbury High Street, in front of the historic Westgate Tower. Shane Shaun used to be a referee. By his own account, the wrestlers pushed and pushed until something in him snapped. He turned up in Canterbury as the Red Menace, promised to put Theodore Powers to sleep, and said the whole of UKPW would plunge into madness after it. Standing opposite him: one half of the Powerbuff Boys, wrestling his second day in a row, with an entire high street chanting his name. ๐…๐ˆ๐•๐„ ๐‘๐„๐€๐’๐Ž๐๐’ ๐“๐Ž ๐–๐€๐“๐‚๐‡ ๐Ÿ) A debut. Remember that it did. ๐Ÿ“) Near falls that had people audibly groaning on the pavement. No spoilers here. Weโ€™ve shown you people flying through the air at frankly unreasonable speedsโ€ฆ But none of that happens properly without the peeps in stripes. ๐Ÿ˜Ž So a HUGE shout-out to our awesome referee team across our mammoth three days at MCM Comic Con Birmingham! ๐Ÿฆ“ FRIDAY Ref Stu - Stu Davies (@refstudavies) ๐Ÿฆ“ SATURDAY Ref Shane & โ€œRef Singhโ€ Gurpreet Singh Rattan (@refsingh) ๐Ÿฆ“ SUNDAY Ref Sandy (@sandybeeches_ref) It was awesome to have so many new faces making their UKPW debuts across Birmingham, and that absolutely extended to our talented referee crew. Because refereeing pro wrestling is FAR more than counting: ONE! TWO! THR... nope. Shoulder up. ๐Ÿ˜‚ They keep the match moving. They communicate. They keep an eye on the wrestlers. They maintain order when four people suddenly decide rules are merely suggestions. And when everything gets completely chaotic... They somehow have to be standing in exactly the right place to count the three. Massive appreciation to all four of you for helping UKPW deliver nine live matches across three days inside the incredible NEC Birmingham (@necbirmingham). And another huge thank you to MCM Comic Con (@mcmcomiccon) for having us. ๐Ÿ’™ ๐Ÿ‘‡ SHOW SOME LOVE FOR TEAM ZEBRA IN THE COMMENTS! ๐Ÿฆ“๐Ÿ‘ Want to see everything from Birmingham? ๐Ÿ‘‰ Starting from just ยฃ1/month, Patreon unlocks: ๐ŸŽฅ Full MCM Birmingham matches ๐Ÿ“ธ Complete ringside photo albums ๐ŸŽฌ Behind-the-scenes footage ๐Ÿ”ง Ring builds, production and logistics ๐Ÿ“‚ The UKPW Archives spanning 110+ live events ๐ŸŽค Direct access to UKPW management and the peeps who actually make British wrestling happen ๐Ÿ‘‰ patreon.com/ukpw ๐ŸŽฎ NEXT UP - 15 & 16 AUGUST Rapture Gaming Festival (@rapturegamingfestival) ๐Ÿ“ Medway Park, Gillingham, ME7 1HF ๐Ÿ•™ From 10am ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Tickets from ยฃ20 Then: ๐Ÿ™๏ธ 12 September - Maidstone โš“ 26 September - Historic Dockyard Chatham ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ ukpw.shop BIG UP TEAM ZEBRA! ๐Ÿฆ“๐Ÿ’› Stay awesome, stay safe, and weโ€™ll see you at the next event! #ukpw #mcmcomiccon #mcmbirmingham #necbirmingham #britishwrestling by @its_shane_shawn_
