POSTS STORIES REELS

The Paper Apothecary is a monthly creative collection in a beautiful envelope designed to bring a pause, a little space, wonder and mindfulness into your everyday life.
Each edition is carefully curated by me and posted through your letterbox.
The contents will change from month to month, because I don’t want to create something that becomes predictable, repetitive or another thing to keep up with.
Instead, each parcel follows its own intuitive flow.
You might receive an art print, a small card or photograph, creative prompts, reflective writing, a mindfulness practice, a simple ritual, ideas for working with herbs or crystals, or something entirely unexpected.
Some pieces are designed to be used. Some are designed to be kept, some to be given away. Some might simply invite you to stop for five minutes and notice.

But the main aim is to build a practice. Finding small, manageable ways to make space for creativity, wonder, mindfulness and connection within whatever life looks like that month.

What to expect
A new curated collection each month
A mixture of handmade and printed pieces
Creative and reflective activities
Mindfulness practices and occasional rituals
Original artwork and photography
Suggestions for plant and crystal allies where they fit the month’s theme
Something a little unexpected, because I reserve the right to follow my curiosity! (And you should too)

There’s no prescribed way to use your parcel.
Take in what you need. Allow yourself to try something once or come back to it later. Leave something on your desk, in the kitchen or next to your bed. Put something in your journal. Give something to a friend. Do whatever feels right to you.

This isn’t another subscription asking you to consume more things.
It’s a little invitation to pause, notice and build a practice that belongs to you to create a safe space within a busy, busy world. #mailclub #mindfulnesspractices #crystalhealing #takeapause #slowlivingmovement by @itsannieeclectic

$Did you feel it? The transition from fight and flight to test and digest? Did you shoulders drop a little? The tension in your jaw loosen a fraction? The tightness in your back release a fraction? I hope so! Mindfulness is incredibly powerful but even that can feel too unreachable so taking a managable moment like this can go such a long way. And yes it is mindfulness but sometimes a word can hold a power and hold us back in some ways. If you life a high cortisol life such as a parent carer, a carer, someone with chronic illness or disabilities achieving meditation and mindfulness can feel so out of reach. So I bring you a simple flame, for 30 seconds in the hope it will help in the way it helped me. Remember to find you glimmers, love them, hold them, and save them for later my friend xxxx #mindfulness #mindfulmovement #parentcarers #chronicillnessawareness #micromoments by @itsannieeclectic$

Just a few things. It’s been a different to normal road for us and sometimes it takes a toll, thank you for being here! Xxx big love xxx #honestwords #noonansyndromeawareness #mindfulmoment by @itsannieeclectic

Birthdays aren’t easy for everyone. And it can be for a myriad of reasons. No one should be shamed for not “performing” right for the gratification of others. If you know that a chill birthday with one or two people is what lights you up and is you at capacity then do that! It should always be about what you want, not others. 💜 and thank you so much to everyone who messaged I am forever grateful for the wonderful community I am part of and my nearest and dearest. Thinking too much,
not thinking enough.

Being unable to see what’s make you feel smaller or larger, quieter or louder doesn’t mean your not affected or making an impact.

The way we move through this world seems so disjointed right now. And there are many out there who just wish to cause harm and disharmony.

And many who want to bring good and harmony.

It’s a balance.

When the balance tips, when you stop feeling like yourself, that’s the point where taking time to stop and listen to the birds will be the most helpful thing.

Feel into your body, what do you feel? What are the thoughts that come to the surface first?
What’s lighting you up?
What’s making you sad?
Where can you make tiny steps?

Mindfulness isn’t just about smelling the roses and spotting the mushrooms. It’s about learning who you are, it’s about healing, it’s about growth!

And as I’ve been stewing in self doubt, burn out and creeping depression inspiration has struck, and so this month’s Paper Apothecary will be themed on Ripples. ☺️ and already the ripple of that decision has taken some weight away and sparked a light that’s been missing. And hopefully the ripples will move through those who are signed up in a wonderful and helpful way 💜💜💜💜

I don’t do big full moon rituals, there is little space for that in my life. But I do tend to go out and have a chat with her. The birds were singing so beautifully and as I started telling the moon “I’m okay, we move, I can handle it” our female Tawny owl started this cry. 😭 it felt like she was reflecting my souls cry. And the cry of so many.

It shook me.
It felt like a release,

And then I went racing up the hill to see if I could see her. I couldn’t but I will go look again and keep looking to make sure she’s okay.

And now I’m going to sit with that reflection for a while, I feel it’s the sound of so many hearts.

You don’t have to do anything big or fancy or dramatic or aesthetic for a full moon. Just looking, or sleeping, or writing, or drawing, whatever you feel drawn to. Or nothing at all, don’t worry there’s 13 in a year and the moon never leaves us.

Big loves, Annie

I don’t even have the words for everything that is happening in the world, near and far. It’s overwhelming. But it’s important to remember that harming anyone is the action of bad people. Punching down on the disabled and low income individuals is disgusting. Denying marginalised groups their rights is also disgusting. Genoside is genoside no matter how you look at it. by @itsannieeclectic

I’m tired. Last months paper apothecary was based on spinning plates, how we manage it in a concerted and kind way for our nervous systems. Perhaps this months will be about wiggling our tippy toes in the bravezone. Who knows. Anywyas, hope you enjoyed these moments in time. Hands up if this is you too, stopping g doing the thing that will help us rebalance our nervous systems when we’re in a state of stress or high cortisol? Bevuase it’s a super common thing amongst the people I talk to and from a logical point of view it’s bloody bizarre!!! And f it helps, pop in the comments the thing that helps you and maybe just that acknowledgment might help you to come back to it, if your in that place of needing to 💜💜💜 #witchinthewoods #natureheals #rebalance #nervoussystemregulation #mindfullifestyle by @itsannieeclectic

I feel like this has all been dancing on the top of my tongue for so long.

And please don’t take this as me saying that the traditional business structure is wrong, it’s incredible and serves many. Just not me.

I don’t want to be stuck in this block anymore and it’s not selfish of me. Or maybe it is a bit self-ish? Because I’m bringing it back to me.

I deal with a lot in the day to day like so many, I love to share the modalities and methods I’ve explored and learnt to help me. Heck I trained as a crystal healer to help me manage the stress and overwhelm that being a parent to a child with needs brings.

And if sharing that knowledge helps others that brings me so much joy but I can’t keep centring my creativity around the needs of others when I don’t even know what the needs of others are? Does that make sense?

Some of my favourite work I do is the commission energetic pieces. These can take huge amount of energy and time from both myself and my client. I only do a few at a time to allow the right amount of space for them. Being able to work so closely with someone is a privilege and a joy and I do not want to let that go.

But the every day creations I do, they will just be whatever I want them to be. And if that’s creation connects or resonates with someone either energetically or because it’s pretty that feels amazing.

As a kid I always said I wanted to be an artist. So let’s fulfil that kids dream.

Much love beautiful hooman xxx

Soemthing I’ve noticed a lot recently having a child with a rare genetic syndrome is that you kind of fall into the send community but don’t fit in.

While yes my kiddo may have neurodivergence (noonans literally is a neuropathy disorder) his needs are completely different.

It can feel quite lonely.

I am within the beautiful but small community for Noonans and it can be both reassuring and heartbreaking at the same time.

If you ask me how I am or how we are it’ll be “oh yes we’re fine” beguase you probably don’t have the hour I’d need to give you the low down.

It feels crappy when we say “he has Noonan syndrome” and no one knows what it is. Even though we were in that camp when we were first told too. And we’re so still learning because heck is it complex.

So I do feel it’s important to talk about, there needs to be a greater awareness. There are statistics that show many individuals with noonans don’t find out until later in life when they find they have a congenital heart condition.

I think it’s also important to talk about our experiences as parents to kids with needs, any needs! Not exploiting our kids for views or anything because that’s a shitty thing to do. But talking about what comes with the experience as parents. As family, because it’s a lot!

And it’s pretty lonely, and hard.

Anyways, thank you for being here. Hopefully we will get some answers today.

Big love, Annie
